Ted Cruz’s Coup Against Right-Wing Matriarch Phyllis Schlafly
The Daily Beast ^ | 04/17/2016 | BETSY WOODRUFF

Posted on 04/17/2016 6:08:24 AM PDT by MaxistheBest

When Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump, the wheels started to come off her right-wing empire and allies blame the trouble on Ted Cruz. One of the right-wing’s most prominent empires is reeling — and its president says it’s Ted Cruz’s fault.

Eagle Forum, a conglomerate of conservative groups which anti-feminist icon Phyllis Schlafly started in 1972, has been rocked by inner turmoil over the last week that has pit family members against each other. And the group’s head, Ed Martin, says Cruz’s campaign is using its much-discussed “dirty tricks” to sow conflict in the organization as revenge for Schlafly’s endorsement of Donald Trump.

If Cruz doesn’t like or engage in this type of activity, why did he hire Jeff Roe? Do you have any idea the kind of gutter crud Roe engages in? I read an article about him yesterday, and it made my skin crawl. Why any Christian would hire/line the pockets of such an individual is a question without an answer.

You post:

“According to the article, this guy Martin sent “a very ugly” email”

The article states:

Adams didn’t say who wrote the email or what specifically it said about Cruz.
“It was a very ugly email,” she said. “And I really want to drop it at that, and I don’t want to be fingering the person who wrote it.”

It is just another example of Lyin Terd doing what he does best, playing the role of the turd in the punch bowl, deluding the gullible to join the evil in the destruction of America.

That’s what I thought, but the Graham in question is Franklin, not Lindsey.

It will be real interesting if Cruz were to ever become president. Jeff Roe will be chief of staff and your “Principled Christian Conservative” candidate will be like a dream turned nightmare.
Jeff Roe is a pig and Ted Cruz is a pig politician for hiring him!!

We'll find out what the phrase 'Christian Taliban' really means, when King Cruz begins to redistribute the wealth from the 'wicked' to the 'righteous', just like his daddy said:

Meanwhile, it's *full speed ahead* !!!

That is why it is so foolish for Cruz to do a lot of what he’s done. He’s doesn’t understand how Trump controls the narrative. It’s amazing. Cruz is cratering in the polls after CO and WY - Trump is using that as ammunition to do it.

Phyllis Schlafly was an effective conservative activist when Ted Cruz was a two year old. He should be asking himself why she, like so many seasoned conservatives, supports Trump instead of him.

Trump is a deductive thinker - he begins with the goal and works back from there - no wasted motion - only what contributes to the result.— Bill Mitchell (REAL) (@mitchellvii) March 21, 2016

Guys like Cruz are inductive thinkers. They are so obsessed with the ideological front end, the actual result is an afterthought.— Bill Mitchell (REAL) (@mitchellvii) March 21, 2016

The real reason: Donald went pro-abort. I suspect the Christian leaders who endorsed Trump are subject to the same kind of blow back/.

As normal...facts are irrelevant to Trump supporters...

Wrong. Ted Cruz is not being indicted or tried in a court of law, most people don't have time to fully dig into the hidden facts of his schemes - after all that's what makes him such a good delegate poacher - stealth and cleverness - doing things behind closed doors. It would take twenty years to unwind whatever deals he's already made with the enemy.

His campaign will do anything to win including injure that for which he claims to stand, and he'll aid that which he claims is his enemy.

What he loves is his ambition, and that's all that he loves ... said so himself as a young man.

I'll be voting for Donald Trump in November.

Those “great conservative writers” fit right in with Cruz. Both exhale tons of hot air and accomplish nothing. I will take doers like Palin, Sessions, Scott, Hunter, Christie, Brewer, Arpio, etc. Guess for me, it boils down to talkers vs doers.

Cruz himself said he will take money from anyone not too principled. How much would he take from Soros? Coker and TPA. Conservative and Christian when efficient to get what he wants.

Bill Mitchell really has Cruz’s number. I have thought more than once about Cruz ..What’s he gonna do with it, once he gets it?

-- So Phyllis keeps her job? --

Yes, but the board is trying to make the job nothing but a figurehead. The resolution of the war is unsettled at this point. The board tried to wrest control of funds, but was blocked at the bank, and I think it will take litigation to settle whther Martin's firing was proper. Schlafley says she considers Martin to still be president of Eagle Forum.

That’s a very Leftist ploy to harshly smear one’s opponent with action you are taking.

-- The Cruz campaign has driven a wedge between mother and daughter, how low can you go. --

The wedge was there. If anything, the Cruz campaign "merely" took advantage of it. I don't think Eagle Forum survives. I hope Phyllis figures out a way to unwind it in a way that satisfies her conscience, before she passes away.

The enemy would that be...?

BTW, if Trump wins the nomination, I will be voting for him as well, can you say the same thing about Cruz ?

Live in the moment. That’s what people with a lack of strategic thinking skills do. They are always reacting. Notice how proactive Trump is. He’s driven the narrative since June 6. Everyone else is following and reacting. Even Obama, Trump has rendered him irrelevant on many issues. Have you heard much out of the anti gun people?? Hmmmm, I wonder why. It’s not because of what Cruz is saying. Trump’s RSBN youtube rally videos have had 1.6 million views since Wisconsin! Trump has taken the gun narrative away from Obama everyone else.

It’s an amazing thing to watch. We are not used to seeing this form a “politician”.
