Brother Phil delivered the pre-race invocation on April 9th at the Texas Motor Speedway’s Duck Commander 500. And it was a mighty fine invocation, indeed.
“I pray Father that we put a Jesus-Man in the White House,” he prayed. “Help us do that and help us all to repent, to do what is right, to love you more and to love each other. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.”

I’ve been singing this song for a while now. By all means let us have a government that fulfills the prayer “that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
Generally this means a fair government. One that doesn’t go nosing around for trouble if you don’t go trying to trouble it.
The problem with bringing a lot of gospel evangelical zeal into a place like the White House is that the opportunities for it to be used in a godly manner are going to be few, and the temptations to misuse it are going to be many. It’s a different kind of ministry, one that has much use for decent men, but not for burning gospel evangelists.
Poor Jimmy Carter was so frustrated, and in the end bitter, mistaking worldly affairs for church affairs. He would have done a lot better as a missionary.
If a Muslim had said a Muslim prayer they would have been ecstatic. “Oooh how cross cultural! We are so privileged to be a part of this beautiful prayer. We shouldn’t have forgot to bring a scarf for our heads. How intolerant of us.”

I have thought about the last two Dem Presidents and, I think it is safe to say, they both certainly had ‘Daddy’ issues. And then I look at Ted Cruz and wonder what he really is all about. It seems his nuclear family was troubled at the very least.
You can tell a lot about a persn over what they rejoice over.
That abortion is legal. Or that more abortionaries close.
That perverts rights trump normal peoples rights. Or that perverts are called perverts and rightly not treated as a special protected class.
