In the future, will employees become extinct? All over the world, from the United States to Japan, businesses of all sizes – corporations and small enterprises – are gradually phasing out the employee.

Contractual workers are becoming the norm, while firms are taking on freelancers. Crowdsourcing the New Reality in Labor Market

Uber is the latest sensation in the marketplace.

The ride-sharing app allows consumers to save money on transportation, while the drivers earn a little bit of extra cash.

Of course, the drivers aren’t employees but rather contractors. The real number of staffers at Uber is 2,000, compared to the estimated 160,000 contractors picking up passengers worldwide.

It isn’t just Uber that is contributing to the dismissal of the conventional employee and embracing the so-called 1099 economy.

Amazon recently made headlines after it was reported that the online retail juggernaut is considering incorporating an Uber-like delivery service into its business model.

Ultimately this will just accelerate the increase in voters who want the Government to provide for their welfare and security.

government has made it WAY too difficult and costly to actually hire anyone.

Thus the system finds a another way.

You have no real skin in the game. No ownership or membership in an enterprise, but if you contribute labor you might get some cash.

Very insecure life. People will look to government to give them security — probably thru a guaranteed national income.

That’s why employees are treated with such contempt nowadays. No one wants employees. It’s a meat grinder for the workadays.

It’s been like this in CA for years. Pretty soon, they’ll get those at the bottom of the food chain in retail like jobs to rent out space in their stores and sell on worthless commissions and meaningless incentives.

It’s coming folks.

All my working life, you worked for the company. YOU chose a company for it’s benefits and pay. No longer. There is no loyalty for a company. One job is like the next. Same pay and no benefits. Nobody cares if the company goes under, it’s just bought by another group and that group cuts benefits and wages more. Instead of quality, quantity is the goal. Third world manufacturing is here in the US. If other countries can survive in filth and poverty, then the US can too.

I have done contract work for a California-based company who dangled full-time in front of me like a carrot. Job completed: “We will keep you in mind for future work, thanks.” Its more and more common in Texas now.

Not to mention the process to fire someone. One of my daughters works at a small company and no matter what an employee does they do not fire anyone without consulting with the owner’s attorney. That is insane!

Oh, I’ve seen it. I honestly feel sorry for those starting out in today’s America. The young folk starting out will be totally screwed.

And it’s not enough, so the government floods the country with tens of millions of low wage illegal workers, while attempting to increase their country killing chain immigration policies, HB1 and on and on. And half them coming out of school already have massive debt. Instant debt slaves.

America has become the results of D.C. loser leadership. And all this while most of the lawyers in D.C. become wealthier and wealthier.

Companies don’t build companies anymore, they merely look to get immediate gratification. Profits in three years? You kidding? No one there now will be at the company in three years. Rare is it to find even an executive that’s been at a company for very long.

Everyone is sucking the system dry.

It’s the new “gig” economy the self-anointed trust fund intellectuals are crowing about. It’s supposed to be hip, like micro houses on trailers and ‘full-utilization of resources’ aka dumpster diving for food. Serfdom is cool for everyone but them.

The company I work at when they hire people and they have the work temp next to their name in Outlook and active directory. A former co-worker who recently got a better paying job said he is a temp at the new place. He does not get the higher pay for 6 months.

When I was hired several years before obama I was hired right away and was not a temp. It all started because of obamacare.

160,000 contractors x a daily amount paid back to Uber makes that company rich. No wonder the democrats want a piece of the action. They are trying to make it expensive until Uber pays the DNC bribes then the DNC will let off the complaints.
