Former Cruz Aide: Trump Now Believes He Will Lose Nomination at Convention
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 04/13/2016 6:05:20 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Does Donald Trump think he's going to lose the nomination at the convention? Are his current complaints about RNC "dirty tricks," the system being "rigged," etc. a preview of the explanation he'll be offering when he does indeed lose? Yes, and yes, if you buy what former senior Cruz aide Rick Tyler said on today's Morning Joe.

After the show rolled video of Trump's attacks on the RNC, Joe Scarborough said that the Donald had hit the "sweet spot." Scarborough again made the case for Trump, saying "no, that's the speech of somebody that can win 49 states and would be enraged he lost the 50th." But Tyler pushed back, saying "that's not the speech of a winner. That's the speech of someone who believes he's losing . . . He actually believes now he's going to lose this nomination at the convention on the second ballot."

View the video here.

DU agrees with you. It amazes me that a large number of FReepers do not understand that we are a representative Republic, not a democracy. Trump showed his fundamental lack of knowledge of this countries government with his whining that we are supposed to be a democracy. No sir, we are not. spoken like the idiotic democrat that he is.

Well, strictly speaking, it’ll be stolen from him.

One has to own something before it can be stolen my FRiend.

Trump hasn't won anything as of today.

...Trump is leading in the 4th Quarter, time still remaining.

1237 he wins, else it's Overtime.

The GOP was FIRST with socialized medicine,
and grubered America installing ROMNEYCARE,
and then the ever-lying, conservative-backstabbing GOP
lied and said they did not.

The GOP was FIRST with gay marriage,

and then the ever-lying, conservative-backstabbing GOP

The GOP was FIRST with SECRET ObamaTRADE,

The GOP was FIRST with staring the IRS Atrocity,

NOW: They have stolen the Peoples’ vote to install Sharia
through Cruz and his violent, ever-lying
hoardes and whores paid by Soros and Goldman Sachs.

Saying that Cruz will lose the nomination at the convention is a lie. That is Trump BS to stir up the paranoia to “steal” votes. Cruz has the best chance of anybody winning the nomination at the convention.

“That Cruzade is some powerful stuff.”

Just imagine how powerful a mixture of Cruzade and TrumpTea would be, kind of a matter and anti-matter reaction.

Rick Tyler was the Cruz guy who spread the lie that Rubio was mocking the Bible. Even sleazeball Ted had to fire him to save face. So yeah what Tyler projects about Trump means squat.

“Except that the popular vote that you think means crap determined what those who elect the president did.”

Just a lie. Algore won the popular vote but lost the Presidency fair and square. It is a first grade math, not too complicated unless perhaps you are a Trump partisan.

Algore: 50,996,582
Dubya: 50,456,062

The difference is more than half a million popular votes. Popular vote means sh*t.

Can’t be that hard to look at the numbers and conclude that popular vote means crap in our Republic (and in our Republican party).

Trump is correct and Priebus has run the RNC like the shady little punk lawyer he is. I have turned down over 6 offers to renew my RNC membership this year and yesterday I about fell over when I received Priebus’s letter to join the RNC “Order of Merit”. The form letter for the 2016 Republican Life Member Order of Merit has to be Priebus’ last ditch effort to haul in past RNC members. The BS is so deep you’d think I had helped make the RNC. I am through with them and he knows it. After the TN delegate swap and especially Colorado’s joke of a primary, the RNC has proven they are on the grease too.

Former Cruz aide says Trump now believes Donald will lose nomination at convention, and his current complaints about rigged system and dirty tricks are a preview of what he’ll say when he loses.

Well, shucks...there they go, again.

Wowser. Them Cruzbuggers KNOW everything....even what's in Donald's mind.

(Sniffle) That's b/c St Ted was anointed by God and has special powers to see what other men cannot. (sob)

Oh wait.....Cruz sounds more like "The Shadow"....Teddy knows what lurks in the hearts of his opponents.

ROTFLOL.

Why should he be? The vast majority in this country have enough sense to recognize that he is temperamentally unsuited for the job.

Fidel Castro also agrees with me that the sky looks blue in a bright sunny Cuban day.

If he does he is surely planning his third-party run.

Three reasons that won't happen:

1. It's too late to set up a third party run in many states.

2. Many other states have "sore loser" laws that bar a thir party run by a candidate who appeared on a primary ballot.

3. Trump is not going to finance a hopeless third party run out of his own pocket. And few big donors would contribute to same.

“He Will Lose Nomination at Convention”

That's been the GOPs plan for a long time now. Keep giving him justification to run 3rd party you fools. Hillary Clinton thanks you for your efforts.

It amazes me that a large number of FReepers do not understand that we are a representative Republic, not a democracy.

So your representative republic is designed to completely subvert the popular will, in favor of arcane and archaic ‘rules’ which allow for behind the scenes wrestling an wrangling, wining and dining in order to produce an acceptable candidate...

Yes, I’m sure that’s what the Founding Fathers had in mind...

so you still deny that the popular vote of the individual states determines the outcome of the Electoral College...?

the speech of someone who understands, VERY WELL, the undercurrent of dissatisfaction by VOTERS and is seeking to maximize their support.

You got it. People for Trump realize we left a constitutional representative republic a LONG time ago. We have little hope of getting it back. In this election our only chance is Trump.

Of course he is going to lose on the second ballot.

HE chose to make this a bare knuckle brawl.
HE chose to roll in the mud and appeal to the lowest common denominator.
HE chose to conduct himself in a classless manner and call people names, belittle candidates and belittle the delegates.

It was a bold strategy and appears as if it was enough to secure 42%-48% of the delegates. Unfortunately for him, that is not enough to get the nomination and the flame throwing type of campaign he chose to run will certainly preclude him from convincing any uncommitted delegates at the convention.

Sorry Donald. You made your bed. In July you will have to lie in it. Nobody "cheated". The system isn't "rigged". You made a gamble that bursting into the Republican race and acting like an asshole would endear you to the voters. Your gamble didn't pay off.

You're fired.
