You can. In the general. They are run by the states. Primaries are run by private parties who set their rules. Been that way for 100 years. The only folks I recall ever bitching about the process are Trump and his Trumpettes.

Sorry, don’t buy it. I’m part of the “party” a registered Republican. It’s not the party that is denying themselves votes, it’s the leadership. The party should be able to have a say and guess what, that’s we the people.
