{Instead, according to a Washington Post analysis, many of the gifts that Trump cited to prove his generosity were free rounds of golf, given away by his courses for charity auctions and raffles.
Another substantial source of charitable deductions was land-conservation agreements to forgo development rights on property Trump owns.]
These are called “gifts in kind”. These are common practices with philanthropic organizations.
I don’t understand the problem the article is trying to raise?
Is this writer trying to accuse Donald Trump of not taking a tax break for those out of pocket donations and helpful kindnesses we’ve managed to learn about like the soldier stuck in the mexican prison for a non-crime? There are a lot of other people he’s helped out along the way...personally...
Well I’ll be dipped in wonder! The so-called ‘opportunist’ failed to take advantage of the disadvantaged to help himself tax-wise?”
Like I said, dip me in wonder, because I will never cease to be amazed that there ARE people who are actually generous, caring, wonderful people in the world, and Donald J. Trump happens to be one of them.
Trump doesn't have the income he claims.....which is why he won't release his tax returns.
More importantly, this is probably tax fraud. Gifts in kind are valued by the donor, subject to substantiation by the IRS if requested ( another potential problem.<. So Trump "donates" a tee time at one of his clubs..says it's worth $1000..takes a tax deduction...which sticks it to the taxpayers...instead..it's worth more like an unsold seat at a movie, or on an airplane...closer to ZERO...That's tax fraud..big time, baby...
Remember back when Hillary donated Bill's used BVDs..claimed $1 for each of them..
they want to compare the cash that Hillary donated from the Clinton foundation to the goods and serviced donated by that miser Trump
Yours is not to reason why
Yours is but to agree or die.

My guess is they're trying to make him sound like a bad guy since it's not coming from his personal bank account. It's just one guy's opinion, but it's probably close to the truth.
