Former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith was killed Saturday night, according to a team spokesman.
He was 34.
Hours before the shooting, Smith tweeted that he was "having a blast" Saturday night at the French Quarter Fest, an annual event in the famed New Orleans district.

And then from the reports it sounds like he tried to beat someone up over a traffic incident. The someone he tried to beat up had a firearm for defense, and believe me if an angry 250lb X-football player wants to beat you up then a gun isn't a bad idea.
I don't know what is what exactly but I do know that bullies usually get what they deserve in the end.

I assume the shooter is black so in this case black lives don’t matter. Only if the shooter is white do black lives matter.
The NFL will soon be making a statement about, “senseless gun violence.” Perhaps November will be declared black armband month.
This shooting appears to have occurred for reasons that are technically correct, no matter what the color of the shooter’s skin is.
I don’t know the facts only read the CNN piece, but he was hit in the ass at a stop, obviously he was upset, but who wouldn’t be. I don’t know about you but my first instinct isn’t to come out with a gun in my hand and shoot the guy and his wife.
I’m sure he wasn’t driving some hoodrat hooptie.
What a shame, he was the local sports hero in Utica, NY.
Well, since the guy who did the shooting was the one who rear ended him I can see the POed part on Smith’s part.
“Oh, I’m so, so, so very sorry. Let’s call the police and insurance companies...” goes a long way.
The above is said as one who has been in an accident caused by another. I was right POed but the other driver was very apologetic.

We should know the race of the shooter within the next day or two. If he's white, Obama will issue a statement and direct the Justice Department to begin an investigation into possible civil rights violations. If he's black, we'll hear nothing.
