So pessimistic.

Don’t let your heart be troubled.

Ted will effect real, authentic, CONSERVATIVE change.

Ted Cruz will EXACTLY what his money backers TELL him to do! He will do it WITHOUT my vote.

I think once the nominee is selected and the campaigning shifts into gear against the democrats the mood and the impulse to stay home will change.

I can’t speak for all Cruz supporters. I’ll give trump an opportunity to convince me he’ll be better than whichever idiot the left puts in front of us. I’ll also need to determine if the party needs to be sent a strong message for not supporting a true conservative. My proclivity at the moment is to write in Cruz. Nothing I’ve seen from trump so far has changed my mind.

“Ted Cruz will EXACTLY what his money backers TELL him to do! He will do it WITHOUT my vote.”

Great.

Why don’t you go ahead and just vote for Hitlery directly.

Obviously, your emotions and hatred are more important to you than what’s best for this country.

The establishment didn't support Cruz until he was the last man standing besides Trump. He's not their choice. I suppose you think Cruz should tell them to get lost, but that's silly. Why shouldn't he accept all the support he can get? He's not changing his positions for it.

The simple truth of the matter is that, if Trump and Cruz found their positions reversed, Trump would've done the same thing that Cruz did.

If Trump reaches 1237 delegates, he will have won the nomination fair and square and there will be no "stealing".

However, what if he doesn't reach the 1237 threshold and the convention is then contested? What if, on a subsequent ballot, Cruz reaches 1237 delegates and wins the nomination fair and square?

What then?

What if the Cubs win the World Series? I'll wait for the results and hopefully the "what ifs" won't matter.

Cruz will be eliminated after New York; Trump will then say "It's me or Romney." Good luck GOPe
The math is foreboding for Cruz. He has 517 delegates. There are just 769 delegates to be awarded. This means Cruz must win 720 of these 769 remaining delegates to reach the required 1237... meaning the next time 49 delegates are awarded to anyone but Cruz, he is mathematically eliminated from reaching 1237. The battle now goes to New York, worth 95 delegates. Trump is way ahead and will knock Cruz out on April 19th. Even the most wishful thinkers have Cruz giving up 60 delegates and seeing his mathematical chances come to an end. Trump will eliminate Cruz by getting about 80 delegates.

If the party is smart they’ll try to force them onto the same ticket regardless of how the votes fall for the nominee.

Sadly - I haven’t seen that much “smart” out of the party in recent years.

Absolutely.

The Trumpets are just honking because their fearless leader, Deceptive Donnie, has been asleep at the switch and didn’t figure it out first.

Donnie better get busy courting delegates. He’s losing ground fast.

No, if Cruz is the nominee, I'll WRITE IN TRUMP.

“There are just 769 delegates to be awarded.”

Hey, bright guy, there are 882 delegates left.

Don’t worry, Ted will eventually get the nomination.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

"...and someone else can get a majority to coalesce behind them"

Yeah, but here's the kicker - that person won't be Ted Cruz.

Then, who might it be? An "establishment" candidate? Fat chance! Between them, Cruz and Trump will control 80% of the delegates -- more than enough to crush any establishment savior parachuted out of the box seats.

So your OK if they bypass Ted and put in Kasich, correct?

Who is this mythical "They" of which you speak? If you mean the RNC rigging things to block Ted and Donald in the second or later ballots, that isn't going to happen. The RNC doesn't have the power to do that and hasn't had it for a long time. The way things work is that the first order of business at the convention will be to pass a set of rules under which the convention will operate. All the delegates get to vote on the rules. Since the combined number of voters held by Trump and Cruz will be a super majority of the delegates, Trump and Cruz will have enough votes to prevent themselves from being disqualified. This means there is no way for "They" to arbitrarily make Kasich the nominee unless a majority of delegates to agree to it (which isn't going to happen). The rules committee (also made up of delegates) could theoretically write rules that boot either Trump or Cruz, but the way the numbers are likely to work out, I think that's extremely unlikely to pass a floor vote.

Brilliant equivocation.

Ted wrote the book “A Time For Truth”. Ted wore “the only principled conservative” like a holy garment.

Now Ted writes checks to Carly and Walker for their support.

I believe with all my heart that Cruz has been a plant since day one. He said all the right things and conservatives were all giddy at the mention of his name.

And to hedge their bets the gopE put Rubio out there for conservatives to get giddy about. He went down early so they shifted all their resources to Cruz. I believe they’d be doing this if Trump had never announced.

Like I said, fool me once (McCain), fool me twice (Romney) fool me thrice (Cruz). How many times do they get away with this before we stop being so gullible?

Exactly, the Grand Old Party establishment is up to their old games and some here refuse to see it.

The GOPe, the Dem party, the enemedia, Wall St, the Ted Cruz campaign are all on the same page of taking out one American citizen that represents Americans who are tired of that whole cabal in power.

That corrupt cabal are pulling out all the stops to try to stop Trump and really, these Americans he represents. I'm also convinced that includes Uniparty trolls here trying to disrupt things.

I think Rubio was the plant to split Concervatives and diminish Cruz votes.
I think Paul was there to split some of the libertarian votes from Cruz.
I think Carson was there to split evangelicals

The party wanted Jeb.

Trump through a monkey wrench into everyone’s plans. No one thought his campaign would work - even trump I suspect. Cruz definitely didn’t plan for it. Without trump the southern strategy would have worked to stop Rubio/Jeb.

Cruz wasn’t a plant.

Deceptive Donnie, shouldn’t you be on the campaign trail instead of social media?

Look for their endorsements soon...

Good point.

Nobody should stay home!

Look, I’m a Trump supporter and although Cruz says conservative things that I totally agree with, I don’t trust him and for some reason he repulses me. I think it’s a huge mistake to nominate him - heck, if I can’t stand him and I’m a conservative, how does he have a chance at all in the general?

Yet, I promise I will vote for him against the democrat if he is the nominee.

I assume Cruz supporters can’t stand Trump and don’t believe a word he says. I’m sure they think he’ll be a big flop in November just like I think Cruz will flop.

But I can assure you, there’s no way your aversion to Trump is stronger than my aversion to Cruz, and I’m making the pledge right now that I’ll support the nominee even if it isn’t my pick.

I hope you all do the same!!! Otherwise, the democrats win again.
