Donald Trump's team is encouraging its supporters in Washington state to sign up to be a potential Trump delegate. The only problem: The campaign's local crew sent its email on Friday -- two days after the filing deadline to appear on the printed ballot in Saturday's conventions and caucuses.
The email, headlined "invitation," encouraged supporters to submit their Declaration of Candidacy for Delegate form. But the very next sentence says the filing deadline was Wednesday.
"You can still be elected as a Trump Delegate at your GOP County Convention this Saturday!" the April 8 email, which was obtained by POLITICO, says. "If you have submitted a Declaration of Candidacy for Delegate form to your GOP County Chairman by the assigned deadline of 10:00am on April 6th."
While it appears the Trump campaign dropped the ball on the deadline to appear on the printed ballot, the billionaire's supporters can still try their hand at being nominated from the floor.
According to Caleb Heimlich, executive director of the Washington state Republican Party, any convention or caucus (the counties are hosting them on a rolling basis from March 12 to April 16) has a filing deadline 72 hours before the event in order to appear on the ballot.
"It is too late to be on the printed ballot for the ones this Saturday," Heimlich said.

It’s not fair! It’s Cheating! It’s stolen! I’m gonna sue! /donald
...just the best.
I can just see it now -- a wall built between New Mexico and the rest of the U.S.
But we are expected to believe no one in the world could be a better President than Donald Trump.
How can Trump supporters continue to believe in this guy when he can’t even get the smallest easiest details correct.
Trump’s campaign leaders are guilty of gross incompetence.
Trump is like a pigeon on a chessboard. Instead of playing the game set before him, he struts around, knocking over the pieces, crapping on the board, and then he declares himself the winner.
He hires the best people.
It is disappointing, but I fully expect that reaction.
Trump is supposed to be a great manager who hires great people. If he actually wants to win this thing he needs to start saying “you’re fired” to a lot of people.
Ah, the old Heimlich maneuver, eh? Well, we'll see about that!
This is another sign that Trump and his crew are not professional politicians. I guess he needs to be more of a career politician like Cruz who has worked for government for his entire life after leaving college.
To me this is a plus for Trump but the downside is that his team makes rookie mistakes that will cost them.
Trump says that the guys currently in power are stupid.
God I love it. This guy is a day late and a dollar short!
LOL! Post of the Day!
“I guess he needs to be more of a career politician like Cruz who has worked for government for his entire life after leaving college.”
In this case, yes. At the very least, you have to understand the rules.
BWAAAAAHAHAHA, funny
Lol

Ridiculous and rather amateurish spin.
You hire competent people who are or you get out.....period.
This is why we need a businessman for President. We need someone who actually knows how to run things! Unlike Cruz who has no idea how to manage an organization. /sarc
