Donald Trump's convention manager, Republican strategist Paul Manafort, described his new role in the campaign Friday, saying it shows the billionaire's signature leadership style.
"This is an example of Donald Trump managing, and the type of leadership he will bring to the presidency in November," Manafort said in an exclusive interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo. "He also understood that winning isn't enough, that it's about how you win and how much you win."
Manafort told CNN, "I work directly for the boss," a notable departure from the usual workflow at Trump's 2016 operation, where most campaign staff answer to campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
...the strategist says he is confident the Cruz campaign will hit a rough patch, allowing Trump to win the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination outright.
"Utah and New York are two different states," he said. "By the time we get to California, the momentum is going to be clear, and Ted Cruz's path to victory will be in shambles."

Sounds like a threat to me.
Why are you saying stupid stuff.
I just said, while breathing nicely through my nose, that Trump won’t be president.
I’m not advocating murder. Duh. It’s not a threat against his life and family. How silly is that.
It’s simply a realization that an incompetent man, who probably had the nomination in the grasp of his short fingers, threw it away because of his mental instability and inability to control the tweet finger.
Only a kinda crazy person would believe the scenario you just outlined.
If you don’t think it’s a good idea, it must be fantastic.
this was in the context of winning popular vote isn’t enough, because gop has their version of superdelegates where insiders decide
Even Reagan.
I outlined nothing.
it still reads like a threat.
Trump has said on a regular basis that when he negotiates a deal, it may not be with a nice person or even someone we like. It’ll be a skillful negotiator who will get the job done. So why wouldn’t Trump hire the best person available to stop Teddy and the Cruzers from gaming the system?
Relax. It’s not like Trump hired some tired old crooked hack like Neil Bush.
If Trump has lost the nomination, why do you get so worked up and spend so much energy trying to convince others not to vote for him?
Disinformation agents need jobs, too, you know.
At Trump, of course. And his fans. Sorry I misunderstood you at first.
There is nothing stopping Trump from trying to place his own loyalists in the position of delegate, where the selection of those delegates is determined by local and state party organizations.
Nothing!
It’s not stealing to follow the rules.
First rule. DO NOT PISS OFF YOUR VOTERS.
All others rules are a joke in comparison.
Please name a rule that is different for Trump than it is for any other candidate.
A noisy minority remains a noisy minority.
Crus supporters are infinitely familiar with being in a minority.
“Trump will not be president in any known universe.
Ever.”
