You are making a lot of broad statements with no examples. Can you give a single example? I think that would be helpful. I did not know that Jesus Christ was a big fan of due process, I thought that was an American phenomenon.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, God is not a big fan of fairness? Mea culpa, though if God is like that then He only deserves contempt anyhow.

For starters, in Old Testament law, “Nobody shall be put to death on the testimony of fewer than two witnesses.”

We can already see the rudiments of due process here.

Also following the history of the Hebrew people, the tribunals were delegates of Moses. That implies a formal relationship to trusted religious authority.

I think you are trying to defend the indefensible. This sounds too good, kind of like omniscient Supermen or Batmen that never erred.

Those who do not remember history are proverbially condemned to repeat it. I thought it was liberals who went off half cocked like this.

And about broadness? If the broad shoe fits, it should be worn. Not rejected because someone is arbitrarily finicky about the concept of broadness. Some feet are just fat.

I think BACA (as described) is one of those “It can’t be wrong, when it feels so right” judgment situations.

Except wasn’t there a big sex molestation scandal about the producer of the “You Light Up My Life” movie? It’s like the rationalization in the otherwise wholesome sounding song was a subtle red flag.

I’ve been accused of leading off with feelings many a time, so for me to get “cerebral” like this is actually kind of unusual.

If anyone could testify that a BACA concept “feels” right, folks... it would be me. I’ve seen spirits of family iniquity up close and personal. If it were my feelings, I’d like to morph into that rough tough biker... that mean cowboy... and give those cads what for without any further ado. Yee haw! Stomp with that boot, lash with that bull whip, shoot with that pistol.

Problem is, it hauls in a lot of ungodly stuff along with it. And sometimes it can just get pulled off track by the devil planting false clues. You think it can’t? It happened to me. I acted once based on such a thing, and to my everlasting gratitude the person forgave me. I believe God let it happen to me as a big fat WARNING about letting light... not just heat... into situations of trouble.
