You’ve just brushed Jesus aside, but never mind that.

Didn't he say something about a millstone?

Jesus mentioned something about millstones being thrown into the depths of the ocean....

Have you ever seen how big a millstone is?

These must be the same gentlemen that gave me the bird and almost ran me and my family off the road last weekend for apparently going the speed limit in the SLOW LANE....

No, they must not be.

I suppose you put the Patriot Guard, Hells Angels and motorcycle cops all in the same category.

Jesus said something about hearing a case before judging it too.

Damn right. No better friends.

Or Patriots...most bikers are salt-of-the-earth folks.

BACA does great work. Would that more Americans knew about them and all they do.

I have a biker who lives next door. He has a prison ministry. He looks like he’d pop you head like a pimple.

Which case?

Any case that involves an accusation of wrongdoing, or are you obtuse?

He wrote the whole Bible. Not just a group of isolated gospel quotes.

Which attitude is then taught to the kids? If they are not confessedly responsible to a higher power, then they become the authority figures. Not godly.

And it burns me that people go mouthing about millstones without thinking about THIS kind of millstone being bequeathed... that of teaching that it’s wonderful (let alone okay) to act independently of a worthy Higher Power.

There’s a reason vigilantes got a bad name. The toughie who might help you today, might harm you tomorrow, and with no principle to distinguish the situations except that you got crosswise with him in one of them but not the other.

If this was a gospel based group I would have far, far fewer concerns. The thing that bugs me, is that it isn’t.

I’m not part of BACA, but I have close family who are very heavily involved in the California BACA. God bless these people for being His hand and voice extended into the lives of “the least of these.” I’ve always wished judges had the discretion to sentence child molesters and abusers to spend some time “undisturbed” with a few BACA members (if you know what I mean).

Just curious what they would do if encountering an actual minister of the gospel. “Aw get your pansy ass outa here”? What if the child finds himself/herself also frightened by these folks, will they leave? What keeps molesters off of their force? Do they ever see a situation where they are NOT the Rx for it?

As I mentioned, I have close family members who are very heavily involved. There are a lot of wives and biking women involved, including my family member. They don't press themselves into a situation where they aren't welcome. They take stuffed animals and blankets to the scared kids, and usually take a woman with them. They've done a lot of good. And a lot of them are active in their churches, so no, they wouldn't treat an "actual minister" of the gospel with disrespect. They would assist in any way they could. My family members are quite active in their church. They see this as a form of ministry.

Men and women who have lived hard lives and retained their humanity are maybe the best defenders that abused children can possibly find. This works on a few levels, such as, a bunch of bikers randomly appearing as “guardian angels” in the background of a formerly abusive situation. The message is clear: “Don’t mess with our friend, here. Hands off. We are not fooling.”

PS: Have you heard of the film called “Black Snake Moan?” It’s very rough and raw, but very uplifting in the end.

This is a pretty crummy synopsis, but it will do. It’s clear in the movie that the female protagonist’s problems resulted from her chronic abuse as a very young girl.

The two old black men are like the BACA bikers in the film.

A Chinese guy once told me all Americans look alike. I thought I’d die laughing. Different hair colors, skin colors, other ethnic differences.

So, for some reason, most bikers are Caucasian. You’re not Chinese are you?

I guess that is why my dad taught me to fight, so I could be my own guardian angel. I would have been raped on a business trip in Philadelphia when I was in my twenties, had I not been able to take him out.
