A lawmaker wants to allow California addicts to use heroin, crack and other drugs at supervised facilities to cut down on overdoses, joining several U.S. cities considering establishing the nation's first legal drug-injection sites.
The proposal introduced Tuesday comes as San Francisco, Seattle, New York City and Ithaca, New York, weigh ordinances to set up the facilities, citing the success of a site operating in Canada since 2003.

give them methadone, they'll also seek out oxy's....
give them oxy's and they'll seek out methamphetamines...
these druggies come into the hospital and they are positive for several drugs, not just one....
there is nothing good or reasonable about drugs, never has been, never will...
this is insanity.....
Those drugs all cost pennies to make though. By giving addicts these cheap chemicals, they no longer have to steal from us and we no longer need a police state to watch us all.
By making drugs illegal, you are creating nothing but a transfer of absurd amounts of value from crime victims to dealers. All done by a vast army of addicts who are too sick to care about victims, laws or themselves.
There’s no other solution to reduce the damage of drug abuse that doesn’t require the complete surrender of privacy of ALL citizens. There’s simply too much profit in the drug business and it’s all behind closed doors
