Roger Stone Warns After Wisconsin Loss: Donald Trump’s Campaign Has No Infrastructure in The States
Breitbart.com ^ | 6 Apr 2016 | Breitbart News

Veteran political strategist and informal adviser for GOP frontrunner Donald Trump Roger Stone warns on Breitbart News Daily that the loss in Wisconsin should be a “wakeup call” for the Trump campaign, which he says should invest in campaign infrastructure to sew up the party’s nomination.

“It’s an early wakeup call, as it were, for the Trump campaign,” Stone, who predicted earlier that Trump would lose Wisconsin, tells Stephen K. Bannon.

Trump’s campaign has been fueled, from the beginning, with these hot button issues and an extraordinary communications-based strategy, where you utilize these huge rallies, the incredible media coverage they have generated, plus the high-profile debates, plus — give Trump credit — any interview he could do, as many interviews as he could do to reach as many voters he can reach. And that has worked. Up until now.

“The campaign has no infrastructure in the states,” he continued.

The woman who ran Wisconsin for Trump previously ran Oklahoma for Trump. Trump lost. Prior to that, she had never run any political campaign, so there was no depth of experience. This is something I see again and again, particularly at the ground roots level. Now, I salute these people for their enthusiasm, but this is a science. This is not something we guess about. And now you move to a serious of states like Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona [which] should be watched very carefully. And those become hand-to-hand combat at state conventions or state committee meetings, where once again the Trump people have built no infrastructure.

Stone added that Trump’s current predicament reminds him of Ronald Reagan’s failed 1976 run.

“That chart doesn’t account for the possibility that Kasich could drop out and commit his delegates to Cruz. That would put 1237 within Cruz’s reach, at least theoretically.”

If Trump is within 100 of the nomination, a deal with Kasich (or Rubio—remember, Marco still has his delegates and his campaign is only suspended) is the most likely outcome. Both are attractive VP candidates and come from big swing states. Not sure Rubio helps in FLA, though.

He may have been conning all along. He hasn’t self funded 100%. He’s LOANING himself the money to pay himself back. For instance, when he flies Trump One he charges his campaign for the costs. And what he actually spends is a tax deduction because he’s “seeking employment”. Perot did the same thing.

I’ve never been convinced that Trump can win the nomination. I’d like to see it but I don’t think he will win and neither will Cruz.

Cruz is establishment. And behind closed doors the establishment loves him because he’s a Trojan horse. The establishment ran an “outsider” to fool it’s base. In fact, they covered their bet by running Rubio as the second outsider.

Ted Cruz/Hillary Clinton - both owned by Goldman Sachs, both will do nothing about immigration.

If you desire Ted Cruz, you'll get Hillary. Oh well, at this point, I could care less.

I didn't vote for George Bush the liar and I won't vote for Ted Cruz the liar.

Hmm.

Now why would (D)onald be doing that if he actually planned on trying to win in the general against...

It is his to lose.

Donald Trump 752 delegates

Ted Cruz 469 delegates

Trump ahead by 283 delegates

It strikes me that Cruz has just peaked and is now on his way down and soon will be out of contention.

My intuition tells me that.

“What I hope happens is not that the Democrats lose, because I don’t think it is even possible for them to lose...”

Dems came into this cycle with the absolute worst prospects in decades. This election was a “gimme” for Republicans, we could have run a department store mannequin and Hillary would have lost to it.

Now look where we are, thanks to “Mr. Personality”.

“You have to take out one of the closed system parties at a time.”

Completely pointless, as we will never have anything other than a 2-party system in this country the way we are constitutionally organized. At best you can replace one party with another, but you’ll never get rid of the parties or create some European-style system with multiple parties and coalitions.

Besides, if we wanted to destroy one of the parties, why would we choose to destroy the one that ISN’T pushing full blown Marxism? The only ones who benefit from that are the commies.

True, but I wasn’t commenting about what’s likely, just about what’s possible.

My stars!! I HAVE been out of the loop! Does that not sound exactly like Cruz, with that wordsmith sapiosexual stuff?

Afraid that word usage, from two different women, makes their tale more believable than any other claims.

Yikes!

Thanks very much, hm, for the direct link! Appreciate it!

I think Stone is correct. I am a Cruz supporter but see no way to the nomination at this point delegate wise. Stone is also right that Trump needs organizations in the states and a ground game and it is too late in the game to implement one for him.

The RNC cannot be trusted and should not be counted on in this area if Trump is the nominee. Trump needs Cruz’s ground game and state organizations if he truly wants to avoid being beholding to any of the Vichy Republicans in Washington. The question comes down to how bad do Trump and Cruz want rid of the establishment and what are they willing to give up to get rid of the Vichy R’s?
