Fine, if Cruz is such a great lawyer, why not advocate for him to sit on one of the benches? We have a plethora of courts where constitutional lawyers are desperately needed. Far too many activist lawyers infest the court system.
But what we don’t need is yet another lawyer politician.
The skills needed to run government are not lawyer skills. All of Cruz’ “experience” you pointed out is related to lawyer skills, not executive skills. When has Cruz ever run a business? Where has he demonstrated that he knows how to find the right person for the job, or how to streamline an agency for efficiency? What is Cruz’ real world experience?
Since the government handles so much money, you need people who understand economics. You also need people who understand how to run things, people with good executive skills. And so forth. Government is full of bloated ineffective programs and agencies—and it only gets worse because almost all of the politicians are lawyers who have no idea how to run anything, and who have no sense or empathy for how their pet ideas affect people’s lives. And so on. Trump has decades of experience in the real world, and has been quite successful at it. He has already demonstrated the executive skills that we so desperately need at the top. He knows what it is like to be an ordinary person trying to navigate the legal morass that the lawyer politicians have created for all of us.
A most excellent post!

We don’t need a dictator-in-chief again. The government needs to ALLOW businesses to grow by STAYING OUT OF THE WAY!
As Reagan said, the government IS the problem.
