Cruz Hater Karl Rove: Let's Go With a Fresh Face at the Convention!
PJ Media ^ | 04-01-2016 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 04/01/2016 5:36:15 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

Karl Rove, establishment hack extraordinaire, has cobbled up a new plan to deny a proven conservative (read: Ted Cruz) the nomination. In an interview with Hugh Hewitt, the former George W. Bush strategist also known as The Architect explained what he and his fellow establishmentarians have in mind:

"I think, though, that let’s say this. If we have somebody who we think has, has been battle tested, and has strong conservative principles and the ability to articulate them, and they are nominated at this convention, there will be a lot of acrimony from the people who were seeking the nomination. But if it’s somebody who has, you know, has those convictions that they can express in a compelling way, we could come out of the convention in relatively strong position, because we do have, you know, look.

"Donald Trump excites a lot of enthusiasm. But he also excites a lot of anger within the Republican Party and outside of the Republican Party. And a fresh face might be the thing that could give us a chance to turn this election and win in November against Hillary."

Rove rightfully pointed out that Trump's negatives are through the roof, which means it'll be virtually impossible for him to win a general election, but he has no good reason to argue against nominating the Ted Cruz, who's second in delegate count and who seems to be on track to win in Wisconsin, which would provide his campaign with a major boost.

The only argument Rove has is that Cruz is sometimes winning against Hillary Clinton and sometimes losing...

Yeah, right.
The Architect who barely squeaked out two victories over totally pathetic opponents with a mediocre candidate that refused to fight back...even to this day.

Wake up Cruz people. Your guy is nothing but a temporary place holder for the GOP. The delegates mostly are not supporters of either Cruz or Trump. They are establishment hacks. After the first ballot they will pick whoever the party bosses tell them to pick, and the party bosses will pick whoever the donors tell them to pick. They are telling you this on a daily basis. You should listen.

I always thought GWB hit the mark with the nickname “Turd Blossom”.

Ted Cruz is not qualified per the natural born clause. That he is even running is a problem, let alone a brokered convention.

If they attempt to pull this off against either Trump or Cruz, the Republican Party will die that night. Hillary will win and any that played a part in it will all be replaced in the next Congressional elections.

Cantor was just the tip of the spear.

Bank on it!

Besides that Eddie Munster (Lyin Ryan) might not even make it out of his Republican Primary. :)

I’m a Cruz supporter and even if he gets the delegates, he won’t get the nom at the convention. Neither will Trump (for whom I will vote if he would get it). I know this sounds tinfoil hattish, but I think the RINOs that have recently come out in support of Cruz are doing so to taint him. They are fully aware that they are the kiss of death. Both Trump and Cruz supporters need to be aware that regardless of delegates, neither are likely to be the nom.

Rover would prefer Dole, Mc Lame, or Romney. Three loosers from the past. And the democraps would prefer Marx or Engels. You could even throw in Stalin for them.

Maybe they ought to just go ahead and nominate Rove and call him a fresh face. The uninformed will never know the scam.

On what planet would Cruz get the nomination? Over 75% of GOP primary voters have voted against him. He has no mathematical possibility of reaching 1237. He probably wont get even 800. Are you all just realizing that Cruz is merely a tool in the shed to deny Trump?

Rove won’t get his millions if Cruz or Trump get the Nomination. neither of them would waste money on his advice...So, Rove has always been clouded by power and it appears he really doesn’t give a whit for conservatives...

“Trump is the only one who that has a path. Cruz is acting as spoiler for GOPe. I think the National Enquirer story was planted by GOPe to enrage Cruz enough to blame.”

They made it personal. They egged on Trump, goaded Cruz and spread the lie enough times so that both camps would take emotional positions, knowing full well we are stubborn enough not to change.

You are right on target, but I don’t think our little remaining Republican primary voters are shrewd enough to comprehend.

You are right: I have been saying for years much of America’s problem is the ineptitude of the Republican primary voters.
