His family was very tight with the Bush family.

I believe his dad had dinner with Bush senior the day before he shot Reagan.

His late father was John Warnock Hinckley, Sr., president of World Vision United States, and Chairman and President of the Vanderbilt Energy Corporation.

World Vision United States is a member and founding organization of World Vision International. Founded in the USA in 1950, it is an evangelical[1] relief and development organization whose stated goal is “to follow our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.”[2] It is one of the largest relief and development organizations in the USA with a 1.6 billion dollar budget (2007).

From the article:

Hinckley’s father, John Hinckley Sr., owned a Colorado energy company he sold the year after the shooting for $26 million. The family bought the home at Kingsmill in 1984 and bankrolled lawyers and psychiatric experts to defend their son. The father died in 2008.

His father and brother were the biggest donors to George H.W. Bush’s 1979/80 campaign for the presidency.

Yes they were rich.. where Hinckley lives is the gated Kingsmill subdivision, a couple miles outside Williamsburg. My wife and I frequent the Barnes & Noble in town where Hinckley was caught a few years ago reading a book about presidential assassinations.

Perhaps that’s the real reason why Jr. shot Reagan, and the Jodie Foster story was just that, a story. ;>)

One of the highest profile Affluenza cases in history, before the word was even invented. His 90 mother may not last much longer, and it doesn’t seem his other relatives want Hinckley Jr. living with them.

I sometimes get this man who shot Reagan: John Hinckley mixed up with another infamous gunman; Mark Chapman, who shot and killed John Lennon. Both men seem to be bushy haired, slightly overweight, bi-focal wearing introverts, at least when they weren’t trying to kill somebody. Mark is still being held in the Wende Correctional Facility. As long as Yoko or her son Sean are around, I doubt if he ever gets out.

And they sponsor thousands of Somali invaders coming to the US, using a religious cover and disguise to gain support from gullible Christians.

Please, give him a couple of months at the prison range and let him out!
