Things have gotten way out of control here as of late. You know as well as most of us, that this war must end and end now, or your forum will end up being nothing more than a joke.
I humbly suggest that you not just request, but demand, that everyone step back and take a serious look at the slanderous comments being made by both camps. Debate is one thing, but what is happening is no longer a debate. This forum is on the verge of a civil war. A war that need not happen. For the good of this great forum, I and many I have talked to on both sides of the war admit things have gone too far.
I am a Ted Cruz supporter, yet I call on all my fellow Cruz supporters to put the knives back in the sheaths, as I ask the same of all you Trump supporters.
This civil war of Freeper against Freeper must end, or the result will inevitably be a complete destruction of this once great forum.
I begin by laying down my weapons as a gesture of good will. From hence forth I will not post any comments that are just knee jerk angry remarks that only serve to fuel the fires of hate and animosity.
We all have a common enemy in this fight, the eventual Democrat Presidential Nominee. I suggest we all remember this, because a house divided upon itself cannot stand, nor defeat the enemy.
I also offer this promise to everyone. Should Trump win the nomination, I promise to fight as hard, and as passionate, for him to become POTUS as I will for Cruz.
You are probably like me and already have them.

This thread is just another example of PC run rampant. I will not support Cruz because I stand behind the Constitution. Cruz s not eligible. There is a long list of reasons behind the Constitution, but that one should be enough.
Cruz has stepped on his own manhood so many times now it’s getting to be extremely embarrassing.
The establishment is not afraid of Cruz.
They are scared to death of Trump though....
They have fought harder against Trump than they EVER did against Obama during his entire 8 years in office.

I also like the way Trump dismembers the media types limb by limb when they ask him stupid, out of context, leading, insulting and accusational questions.

I don't think they should be off limits. What a spouse says and does is fair game. The same thing applies to Bill Clinton, Michele Obama, Heidi Cruz, and yes, Melania Trump.
I could care less that Heidi use to work for Goldman Sachs, but some people might care. I could also care less that Melania posed nude, but some people might care about that too.
However, it's not okay to insult and degrade a spouses looks. I think Trump found that out.

This sounds like a lot of the articles I’m reading lately about robots amd machines taking over the world. I just don’t get it. Machines can’t harm humans until and unless some dim bulb forgets the On/OFF switch.
This forum provides a valuable canvas to express opinions and hear what others think. It contains some stuff that’s objectionable to be sure. However, it’s ridiculous notion that words on a screen directed at a screen name by another screen name can actually do anyone any damage other than make the spitting mad if they let it. Isn’t that the same thing our Liberal college kids are doing by demanding their little “safe places” where no one can truamatize them by disagreeing? Isn’t that the same thing as the poor dears being “frightened” by seeing a pro Trump message?
It’s a screen. The words that appear there can’t hurt you unless you let them. And if you have a weak day, as I have, and find it getting to you, avail yourself of the privilege you have of turning it off.
Otherwise, we’re going to have a stiff, politically polite, vapid conversation that interests or pleases nobody.
Flame wars don’t kill anyone or even cause any injuries except to egos. Sometimes, that’s a good thing. I wish the real life jerks I meet every day were as easy to ignore and turn off as the anonymous ones I meet on the internet.

You would have no problem with the contention if Cruz was the one WAY ahead. You can deny it but nobody would believe you.

I think your intentions are good. I think your theory has some flaws.
“Truce” is subjective.
I don’t know how JR could ask the mods to police such a truce. They are likely divided themselves between candidates.
And, frankly, anyone who can’t run with the big dogs belongs on the porch. That’s not a snark at you, Vike. It’s just how I see it. To me, being a freeper means that you can weild logic and reason as the weapon it is. Resorting to insults and personal attacks demonstrates a weak position.
A conservative considers the facts without regard for emotion.
It’s especially ironic given that your ancestors, assuming you are from Texas, were living in, and likely fully supporting Jim Crow laws at the same time that Trump’s ancestors were creating the Las Vegas Casino business model. Well you have a point. Cruz spent most of his allotted time on CNN last night trashing Trump. I’m so turned off by the guy that I just thank God he has no chance to win. The only reason I would vote for Ted Cruz is to avoid getting zotted off FR. :-)
Because Trump’s unfavorabitlty are the highest of any Presidential candidate since it has been tracked, especially among women. 25% of the Republican base says they will never vote for Trump. Trump is probably the only candidate Hillary can beat.
