Ted Cruz for a third time would not say that he would support Donald Trump as the GOP presidential nominee, the latest sign that his pledge to do so may be softening. Cruz late last week began signaling that his unconditional support for the Republican front-runner was not as ironclad as previously. But asked by CNN's Sunlen Serfaty on Monday if he would definitively say that he would not support Trump, the Texas senator left his answer ambiguous.
"I'm not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my family," Cruz said. "Donald Trump is not gonna be the nominee. We are gonna beat him for this nomination."

The pair are set to appear on CNN’s town hall Tuesday evening. Cruz’s campaign has encouraged the GOP front-runner to combine their individual hours of airtime into a two-hour, one-on-one debate. He once again extended that invitation on Monday.
I guess pledges don’t mean JACK to him.

Ted just wants to egg Trump on.....just like the last debate. Why would anyone want to debate a jerk?...And yes, at this point, I think Ted is a jerk.

I don't know if that is true or not, but if it is, he ought to issue a statement saying that he will back Trump if Trump wins the nomination.
He will certainly expect Trump supporters to back him, and this mutual party loyalty needs to be understood by all parties.

Will you stop repeating an unproven smear? That is not honorable at all.
He has said also that his support also had the caveat that if Donald Trump actually murdered someone on times square he wouldn’t support him then either. There are just certain things that if you pledge your support to someone, and then they break certain moral standards you can’t support them and consider yourself clean. Are you suggesting that your word trumps your moral conscience?
Wonder if Trump willing to back Cruz if votes and delegate counts put his competitor in the lead?
3rd party run = we all lose.
Cruz needs to say he will vote for Trump or else he will be thrown off FreeRepublic.
