I don't know if that is true or not, but if it is, he ought to issue a statement saying that he will back Trump if Trump wins the nomination.
He will certainly expect Trump supporters to back him, and this mutual party loyalty needs to be understood by all parties.
IMHO, Ted is the scorched earth tool of the GOPe at this point.
He has no intention of winning the primary at this point because he knows he doesn't have a chance on ballot 1 or on ballot 100. Maybe, just maybe, if he does a good enough job for the Party, he can be VP for whoever the Party runs.
Ted is now painfully aware of the fact that not only does his approach not work, but that the GOPe will never fall in behind him. The only hope he has is if he serves the Party bosses and helps make sure Trump doesn't get the nomination.
Should Trump get the nomination, Ted will be fighting him right up until election day because the GOPe sees that as the only thing Ted is good for. Cruz got burned and has as a result gone full Harvey Dent.
