I don’t now about you, but I’ve found the Republican race a bit of a disappointment until now. Sure, there was the enjoyment of mud-wrestling “debates,” the spectacle of Trump-derangement syndrome, but where was the sex scandal?
And when we get the sex scandal, it’s about Ted Cruz!
Still, beggars can’t be choosers. The scandal, such as it was, has been floating around for a least six months. That’s when a reporter (not from the Spectator) called to ask if I knew anyone who could confirm the story. (As if I’m supposed to know this stuff.) I told him I didn’t and that the people I knew wouldn’t want to touch it, even if they knew something about it.
Now the story has gone public, thanks to a muck-raking journal that as it happened also outed John Edwards. And everyone is wondering whether the story is true.
Except me. Because I don’t much care if it’s true. Given Heidi, I wouldn’t blame Ted. After all, she apparently refuses to live with him. And given Ted, I wouldn’t blame Heidi.
Novelists will sometimes mention some little incident that doesn’t really move the story line, but which nonetheless matters. The little incident that sticks in my mind is the story that she once ran out of the house and was found on the side of the highway by the police, who thought her suicidal. What sticks in my mind is that Ted hadn’t followed her.

To be fair, I don’t like sex scandals or any other type of scandalous stuff...
I am more interested about what the scandal says of a person’s character. 20years post the other night was for the most part discussed rationally amongst freepers. Since then, the additional threads have tons of false information...3 more women...Carpenters sister in law confirms...interview with his prostitute...and it goes on and on. GC has not confirmed the picture of Melania was requested by Roe. Just because it’s a tweet or a blog doesn’t make it true. Hell even this thread has a post of Carpenter’s daughter and comments about the resemblance. The following has good info

What I find most troubling is the money to the Carly campaign. I know this is cliché. But in what may be the most important election of our lifetime, We cannot have a leader that is beholden to anyone.

Because the Cruzbots want to minimize the sex scandal story and hope it goes away in a few days, rather than be a protracted storyline that will ruin their sordid candidate’s chances in the Primary run. That’s why. They are making it sound unimportant because it is in their disgusting political interests to do so. Holy Roller hypocrisy.
The fact that Cruz is a slick talking, oversexed, lying, hypocritical, vile piece of bovine excrement who, worst of all, is a lawyer, is the little fact that they want kept hidden. Too bad Cruzbots, the sordid tale is now out there, with lots more to come.

Yes and especially if you are an elected public office holder. Its a betrayal of trust to cheat on your spouse. If you would betray your spouse would you betray your constituents?
Private citizens are not held to the same standard as the elected leaders of our country. If you want to be the President of the United States you need to be a cut above the rest. We all kind of do expect it.

Cruz said that there had been a foreshadowing of something that was about to be released. I don’t think it is a coincidence that the only named source is Trump’s Chief Policy Advisor, Roger Stone. I also think it is damning that the publication is owned by Trump’s good friend, David Pecker. The Enquirer has endorsed Trump. Then there is the timing. There are too many strong connections to Trump to simply ignore them.

To be fair, there is no evidence that any of this is true. It is just convenient that Trump had a tabloid rag at his disposal to make accusations without any evidence.

There is a lot more evidence to support Trump’s being behind this scandal than there is that the scandal itself is true.

The Lollipop interview from Texas says he paid her way and provided a rental car to Alexandria VA via Maryland. That in itself is a do time crime. Transporting a Ho-ho across state line for paid sex is a federal no-no !
