Donald Trump: ‘Ted Cruz’s Problem with the National Enquirer Is His and His Alone’
Breitbart ^ | 03/25/16 | Michelle Moons

Posted on 03/25/2016 4:59:19 PM PDT by Enlightened1

Donald Trump on Friday denied claims from fellow 2016 Republican presidential contender

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) that Trump’s friends at the National Enquirer and Trump “political henchmen” are behind a story that the Texas senator engaged in several extramarital affairs.

Trump posted a statement on Friday responding to the Cruz accusation:

I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.

Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.

I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

– Donald J. Trump

Cruz denied accusations of marital infidelity as “garbage” and accused Trump of enlisting “his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bidding” in a statement issued Friday. Cruz also inferred nefarious timing of the National Enquirer story in a Friday press conference.

Ted should demand an immediate retraction dare them to put up or shut up and threaten a big hairy lawsuit.

That's what I expected to see - have been waiting to see. So far, nada.

Maybe some donors actually paid National Enquirer to delay publication!

The said, "Look National Inquirer, this stuff will kill the Cruz campaign, so here's a few million bucks to keep it quiet till after the Arizona and Utah primaries."

"If Cruz doesn't do well in Arizona, we know he's toast, so you can run the story on him then and make some money on it. Meanwhile, we'll switch to Kasich and use Cruz as a zombie candidate with a sole mission to attack Trump 24/7."

I must admit, I’m having a really good time watching our sanctimonious, hypocrite cruzbots twisting themselves into pretzels trying to defend their false idol while their make believe world comes crashing down around them.

I didn’t start out this way, but these past 8 months of being accused of being stupid, immoral, RINO and every other name and description you guys have all heard makes this seem like sweet revenge to me.

It’s really amazing isn’t it? First, Cruz supporters have had to defend him against his NBC status. The same arguments they used against Obama are not valid for Ted. Then, they have had to make the twisted argument that he is not aligned with the establishment when all evidence to the contrary is that he is and always has been establishment. Now, they are defending him against sexual allegations. All the while, they need to keep up the canard that he is a moral and Christian man. So in effect, they are supporting a candidate with the professional experience of Obama, the personal integrity of Clinton, and connections to the Bush family. And they have the audacity to criticize Trump supporters for our support of Trump.

Well said!

Man, you just detonated a MOAB under Cruz Central with that post. You really ought to consider putting it up as a stand-alone thread.

Trump is a dividing line. People’s reactions to Trump, are stripping away the veneer of lies and manipulation.

They seem to self eviscerate in response to every thing he says does...

I was driving home tonight and thinking that ... really I hope none of this is true - I so wanted Cruz to be what we thought he could be when he was first coming on the stage.

But if he's just not that ... and he is what it's been seeming ... and that even goes for if all of the woman stuff is untrue ... then I can take happiness in having trusted my instincts, and knowing that the instincts of others who seem to have seen through him ... are also intact.

And yeah - I have yet to initiate a swipe at any Cruz supporter, but if any of them start pulling the name calling or simply arguing like liberals, then they need to be smoked out. It's kind of like the difference between killing and murder. You don't pull the gun, but if they pull it on you, you shoot 'em.

All that said - I would happily pay a lot of money for the following situation: That Trump turns out to be a complete liar about all of this, caused it, made it up, Ted has never lied, hates amnesty and always did etc. etc. and is the man we hoped he was. I would happily abandon Trump in a second. But as it stands ... I'm just not seeing that, no matter how much I wish it were true.

And the disconnected arguments and name calling from at least the vocal Cruz supporters ... it actually lends credence to the idea that there is something wrong with him.

Still, if I could press a magical button, I would have myself be 100% wrong. Even for the name calling fools, I want the best America possible for them too. I also want debate skills for them, and for some of them, well you can't buy character. All said with full respect for Cruz supporters who simply believe in him. I can not prove them wrong, and I hope they are right. In a perfect world, we would both be right that the man we support is a solid man, loves the country, has the right policies in mind AND can actually make those policies a reality in the real world.

I think your sentiments are sweet and Christian.

And I completely agree with them.

Except that, on the off chance that it happens to be true, I want one of the women to be Amanda Carpenter and for her life to be utterly destroyed, because I think she is a despicable human being.

But, except for that one tiny deviation, we're in agreement.

Yeah - that one - she needs to undergo the type of suffering that turns you into a good person or kills you first.
