That’s a good haul. I hope it will be cheaper to eat this year.

Thank you.

The article was designed specifically to generate emotional, not rational, response.

Most Freepers have so far obediently complied, some almost hysterically.

Not you two.

Thank you for that.

They probably write articles for Polar Bears and Wolves also. The same kind of people who try and tell me how to handle Coyotes, Mountain Lions and Rattle Snakes on our place.

I don’t see your amazement in a large sea dwelling animal that does nothing more than eat, poop and breed. I’ve got about 1200 cows that do the same thing.

5000 Stellar Sea Lions

Last Saturday morning on ABC's Sea Rescues I think, they were helping save all these seal pups who were starving on the beaches around San Diego. According to the rescuers, they have never encountered such numbers before.

From my perspective, it was probably due to the growing and unsustainable numbers of adults since they are now protected all up and down the coast of California.......

Thanks for the link. At least the whales didn’t have a name, then you have real problems. ESA=AGW for animals.

Well- you are entitled to your opinion just as I am.

Do you think your cows are amazing?

“Do you think your cows are amazing?”

Most of the time I think of them as nothing more than a pain in the arse.

Too bad.

They are probably pretty amazing too but you just don’t see it anymore.

Maybe look at them with new eyes.

There has to be a time or two when they have brightened your day or put a smile on your face or had your heart skip a beat.

My best to you! Have a great weekend!

Notice that all 333 were Minke Whales.
They are not endagered at all, and the only “list” they are
on is the “Not at Risk” list.
They are plentiful.

I think the endangered whales should not be hunted/harvested.

If there is a sign there is a reduction of Minke Whales that
would put thm in a at risk category then I would say don’t hunt them.

I would agree with you providing your take is correct.

I’m still not convinced that killing off whales is something we as humans should be doing.

Well, as a general rule I don’t think so either.

I know there is a tribe of Inuits in Alaska that preserve
their heritage/legacy by hunting 1 a year, and they were
given an exclusion for that.

I don’t eat it and don’t plan to.

If we’re talking ancestral tribes that take a few per year for their own consumption, I’m not going to knock that.

I’m not entirely comfortable about talking down whaling by Japan either. I will admit to have a big soft spot for elephants and whales.

I don’t want to see the big cats eradicated from planet earth either. Where they are a threat to communities, then sure.

A similar list is held by me.
Big cats top my list.
Then elephants and whales. (especially blue whales)
Both are equally majectic - and I always liked elephants a lot.
