Kasich says Trump will win if he drops out
Washington Post ^ | March 23, 2015 | David Weigel

A chorus of Republicans, from hard-core supporters of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) to nervous establishment figures like Mitt Romney, is telling Gov. John Kasich (R-Ohio) to stop campaigning and let voters consolidate behind a single Not-Trump candidate.

Kasich's response: Thanks, but you don't know what you're talking about.

"When we get to Pennsylvania, we get to New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island — let me tell ya, if I drop out, Donald Trump is absolutely going to be the nominee," Kasich said after a town hall in the suburbs of Milwaukee. "I'm not out here to stop Donald Trump, but I can tell you the reality of it. I don't believe Sen. Cruz can come to the east and win...

K-sick will decide who the voters choose. It’s up to HIM and only HIM. He is a legend in his own mind.

Doesn't have to be a non-Trump candidate. Just let voters consolidate behind whichever one of the two candidates they want that has a mathematical and rule based chance at the nomination.

Kasich has neither.

He is simply a spoiler at this point.

Read today that Ohio law says it Kasich drops out the second person (Trump) gets his delegates.
Can anyone confirm that ?

The way I read the headline was:

Trump could still win no matter if he TRUMP were to drop out.

Which is about right.

Trump could completely stop campaigning and probably win nonetheless.

What is so awful is that his supporters here are such nasty human beings while they win.

Makes me want to sit on my hands when I was perfectly prepared to vote for the man.

Cruz absolutely cannot win in the NE. He couldn’t even win in the South. In anda couple of weeks its going to be impossible for Cruz to hit 1237 and then the calls for him to drop out will start.

At the town hall itself, Kasich fielded several questions from voters who described themselves as liberals, or as disgusted by the tone of the campaign. One worried that “this bozo Trump” would win a divided Republican contest.

“Boy, I wish I hadn’t called on you,” Kasich said jokingly. “Nobody’s going to go to the convention with enough delegates. And we’re going to have a convention.”

Someone give this poor piece of boring crap a government job.

It's all he's holding out for.

Romney stabbed the K in the back when he rallied for him in Ohio and dropped him like a sack of crap when in Utah.

Cruz himself has told Kasich to drop out because it is mathematically impossible for him to win.. I am sure Cruz won’t be a hypocrite and stay in after he is mathematically eliminated...

Frontloading HQ: 2016 Republican Delegate Allocation: OHIO

See the section on "binding." I read the rules myself, and agree with the take here, and can't find the source of TCH's claim that second place (Trump) would get Kasich's delegates at the convention, if Kasich drops out (some time) before the convention.

Well if Cruz is to be believed (not) that Cruz is more conservative than Trump (again not) then liberal Kasich supporters would probably migrate to Trump and not Cruz. Trump wins.

And if Cruz is less conservative than Trump (True), Cruz is still less likeable than Trump and Kasich supporters are still not going to migrate to Cruz at least not all of them. Trump wins.

And even if Kasich stays in the race, Trump is still likely to have the delegates to clinch the nomination. Trump wins.

And if Trump doesn’t have the delegates (unlikely), the GOPe would be insane (likely) not to go ahead and support Trump. They would be throwing the election to Hillary if they steal this at the convention. And they will probably be killing the viability of the party for 20 years, and quite probably would see the rise of a third party that eclipsed the GOP. No one wins.

Best Election Ever!!!

He’s revealing how delusional he is. Ted will pick up all Kasich votes.

His Ohio victory was because of the NeverTrump movement and he’s too dumb to know it.
