CNN poll: 35% of Republicans and leaners want a third-party GOP candidate if Trump is the nominee

Notably similar to the exit polls conducted a week ago in Florida, Missouri, Ohio, Illinois, and North Carolina, in which 39 percent said they’d consider a third party if forced to choose between Trump and Hillary. What’s interesting about this result, from CNN’s national poll, is that Trump does very well in other metrics. At 47 percent, he’s near a majority and leads Cruz by 16 points. When Republican registered voters and leaners are asked whether they’d feel “dissatisfied” or “upset” if Trump, Cruz, or Kasich wins the nomination, Trump actually scores lowest on the combined totals for those two answers. He leads among those who say they’d be “upset,” but together with “dissatisfied” he’s at 33 percent versus 38 percent for Cruz and 46 percent for Kasich. At lot goes into that, I think — some people may be “dissatisfied” with Kasich as nominee purely because he’s an also-ran, others may be dissatisfied because he’s a centrist and not a conservative. But it’s worth noting these numbers in light of all the #NeverTrump buzz in conservative media.

Fine

You'll have about four months to pull together a coalition and actually put 3 or 4 % on the board

THAT'LL show 'em, by God ! !

If nothing else, this election may force the Conservative wing of the Republican party to divorce itself from the GOPe. The creation of a third party seems to be almost inevitable.

I would wager that a similar percentage of Democrats would say they would want a third party if Hillary is the nominee. Where is that poll?

I actually saw a poll that showed that Cruz’s “will not vote” numbers were higher than Trump’s, and Trump’s weren’t bad at all. CNN is working together with the GOP to build a narrative to justify the Cucks going third party.

Latest CNN POLL: A new poll taken by CNN shows that 75% of the people who would not respond to the poll would not vote for Trump even if they were not voting.

And how many Bernie Sanders supporters will support Hillary Clinton if she is the nominee, notice NO ONE in the media asks that one

I doubt 35% of Republicans have anything to do with CNN.

That is THE only POSSIBLE way (though still highly unlikely) that I will vote.

IMHO ISIS won’t do anything there as long as one of their own is in the White House.”

Yes, I agree. I think they will wait until after BO leaves. The day BO leaves, you could reasonably estimate the country could not possible get any worse than that moment. We will only get stronger from there, so it’s a good time to attack.

No, no, no, no! It is their turn to hold their nose and vote for the nominee! God knows we’ve done it for decades!

So 65% are onboard

I wonder what was the percentage of GOP and leaners that held their noses or didn’t vote for Romney?

Notice how all the discussion now centers on the disenchanted Republican party bosses and donors and their desire for an alternate candidate. I do not recall this level of attention being given to us, the disenchanted, when Romney or McCain ran. The discussion then was that you just have to vote for the nominee of the party or the party will lose the election. They admonished, accept the bosses’ nominee and shut up. Because the outsiders this time turn out to be the arrogant party bosses, the rule has changed because they believe they can have it both ways. This time they are the ones who need to sit down, shut up, and vote for the peoples’ choice.

One question for all you Trump haters our there: if Trump is the Republican nominee, will you vote for Hillary or not vote out of spite so that Hillary will win and destroy the United States? Remember, after the primaries are over and the nominee is picked, the ENEMY TO DEFEAT IS HILLARY CLINTON. Do any of you Trump haters understand that singular fact?
