Any decent cop would arrest anyone throwing rocks at another. A rock is a weapon and they can cause serious injury. As a minimum it is like assault.
Has Cruz declared it’s Trump’s fault that the rock-throwers are throwing rocks at Trump’s supporters? After all, if Trump hadn’t given a rally, then no supporters would have shown up to have rocks thrown at them.

I was a pitcher in my younger days. Might be good refresher training to throw some rocks back and maybe make a dent in a forehead or two.

I thought about throwing rocks back too, but the problem is that unless you know exactly who threw the rock at you, you might hit (and severely wound) someone who was throwing no rocks at all.
I still think water balloons filled with skunk-juice and industrial dye is the best counter-protest tactic.
