Utah Speaker of the House Greg Hughes just endorsed Donald Trump in front of a crowd of about 400 at a rally for the insurgent Republican presidential candidate.

Hughes says he met Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr. recently who asked for his endorsement.

Hughes spoke to a revved up crowd at the Infinity Event Center in downtown Salt Lake City as Trump fans waited for the billionaire to address the crowd.

I think Cruz's quick and enthusiastic embrace of Mitt Romney's endorsement shows that he is establishment GOPe through-and-through.

The fact that Ted came back so quickly to thank Mitt for his endorsement, speaks volumes about Ted's sense of the common people. I mean, he's so out of touch that he honestly thought that was a good thing. Unreal...

Yes, Arizona is one of the few states that is purely winner take all. Trump wins the plurality, he takes the entire prize of 58 delegates.

The Trumpkins would be bumming if Ted was an actual Wallist, like he says... LOL! :)

I heard on one of the cable talk shows that it seemed Cruz was told about it by the Romney camp before the announcement ... makes it that much worse

Just seeing pictures of Republicans, other than Trump, is starting to make me sick.

You've got a point there. I just tried to think of a face or two that doesn't give me a gag reflex, and I had a tough time of it.

Geeez....I'm really stumped. Help me out here...

Newt?
Sarah (for sure)
Mike Lee? (ok)
Jeff Sessions (absolutely)
Gov Greg Abbott (for now)
Allen West (yeppers)
Ben Carson (alright)

Cruz is solidly conservative across the board on the issues.

Yeah...

TPA/TPP
Corker bill
H1-B visas
Teddy bears and soccer balls for illegals
Stabby The Clown already swore him in
Married to Goldman Sachs
Loans? What loans?
Sided with BLM, OWSers, and La Raza against Trump
'Poison Pill' trickery on the Gang of 8 bill
Closed door meeting with Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich
Hired Neil Bush as his campaign finance director
Endorsed by multiple GOPe heavies, including Mitt Romney

Yeah......'consistent conservative'. You bet.

a crowd of about 400. My how things change.

That's still bigger than Cruz's average campaign rally turnout .. LOL

Give it up, bro. Trump's got this.

Cruz lost one of his Rule 40 states.

Oh man, now that's the biggest angle in the whole story! I didn't even realize that had happened.

That is gonna hurt Cruz immensely, seeing how hard it is for him to get any Rule 40 states to begin with.

Alaska did not count as a 40b state for anyone. That would require 15 delegates.

Ooops. I stand corrected, as well.

Thanks

I feel the same when people say they don’t believe he is a billionaire and that is why he hasn’t released his tax returns.

Assets and net worth are not shown on a tax return, and it is net worth that makes someone a billionaire, not income.

All releasing his tax returns would do is to give the IRS auditors millions of laymen helpers. The press would monopolize every press conference, campaign stop, and interview with questions about his taxes that they were handed by “tax experts”.

Eric is spectacular.

I've only seen one video of him speaking, and was impressed. Seems there's starting to be some buzz about The Donald's heirs. They're not only catching our eyes, but the eyes of many astute observers.

Ain't no doubt. Those kids have a future as American leaders of some sort.

Rubio is unemployed in January after he leaves the senate.

Don't think so. K Street will open their arms to him.

Clearly conservatives don’t think Cruz is conservative at all. Trump they feel is.

Bingo.

Trump consistently wins, because he closes the deal with Americans of every demographic, including the very conservative. Like Freepers.

I’m from CA but thought Maryland and Delaware were almost suburbs of D.C., no ? If GOPe is still pushing the never-Trump meme by then, he could be shut out of those two WTA states.

It’s a lose-lose situation for Trump.

yes, the illogic of a tax return showing net worth shows how dumbed down we are.

it’s a sad thing.

Windflier, our friend Rita is on the warpath lately.

I don't think there is anything worse than being betrayed by someone you voted for.

She is fed up and not putting up with any nonsense. Even as an ally, I'm watching my step!

Cruz has got to go to Trump, and soon. It’s pretty obvious, to even amateurs like us, that he’s got no chance to capture the nomination fair and square. There’s no doubt that he and his campaign managers are well aware of this.

If he doesn’t make a deal with Trump, and soon, he’s got a bleak future in national politics ahead of him.....as in no future. He’ll finish out his one and only term in the Senate, then go back to Texas to find work in some law firm, forever remembered as an upstart first term Senator who reached too high and burned his wings.

He still has a chance at enjoying a long and illustrious career as a federal employee at some level, but he’s got to move fast, if he’s to secure it. Every day he prolongs this, the window closes more and more.

Then again, considering how closely he’s suddenly cozied up to the usual establishment suspects, he may have already been given certain guarantees, as to his future prospects. If that’s the case, look for Ted to stay in this until the bitter end.

Utah residents will have the option of casting ballots in the Republican presidential contest using computers, tablets and smartphones next week.

What the hell......?
