The grand poo-baas gave us Earl Warren, Blackman, Souter, Nixon, Bush the elder& younger, Dole, McCain, Boehner, McConnell, Sununu, Romney(s), among others; opposed Reagan and let Bork get borked.

I’m voting for the only candidate that might, if ever so slightly a chance, burn the party down and spit on the ashes.

I am so pissed off about the GOP I will never, ever support them again. I would love to see a new party replace the GOP. They are worse than the Dems, in that they betray their own voters. At least the Dems try to do what they promise, like ruin America and impoverish an entire generation.

If they take it from someone that has over a thousand delegates and give it to someone who has no delegates, it’s stealing and I’ll vote straight ticket Democrat. I will vote to destroy the Republican party. They need a gun put to their head so let’s put the gun to their head.

Here is my bottom line... if the GOP makes any attempt to steal the nomination from whatever candidate has the most delegates, I will refuse to vote for or support ANY GOP candidate at ANY level. It may seem drastic and hurtful to some good candidates...but enough is enough. Nothing can be fixed unless all of the current GOP turds are flushed from elected and party positions.

Amen! Either Trump or Cruz should be the nominee, preferably with the other being the running mate. If the GOPe declares marital law (changes rules to deny Trump and Cruz the nomination), then I will vote for whatever new party Trump starts.

There are a bunch (120+ last number I recall) of uncommitted.

If either Trump or Cruz are short a few dozen, they will try to reach the magic 1237 by enticing those uncommitted delegates before the convention.

It will be a matter of who can offer the best enticements.

‘Hey, you there, uncommitted from North Dakota, wanna ride on Trump 757? Trump steak dinner included.’

I disagree. There will be no second vote. If Trump or Cruz or Bozo the Dog is the leader, that is the nomination.

1237 is an arbitrary number that can be changed the day before the convention when the rules expire.
Same as the change that made 8 states majority a rule instead of 5.

You cannot expect candidates to go through a year of travel and stumping and literally tens of millions of dollars, and then say, oh my, you’re 20 short, tough noodles. Voters won’t stand for it

“I probably will hold my nose and vote for Cruz, but he would lose against Hillary. He doesn’t bring cross-over voters and moderates will either sit at home or vote Hillary.”

Are you going to write him in? That’s a waste.

It's guaranteed that somebody is going to try.

It may or may not be a serious move.

Don't let some feeble, half-hearted attempt on somebody's part turn you against the whole party.

But that’s the whole point. The GOP-e’s WANT to lose big, to be a 180 seat minority in Congress...they got theirs (free golf outings, parties at all the COOL DC places, endless supply of 14 year old Asian ladyboys).

in fact the only way they could lose their grip on power is if someone who isn’t like minded wins and gives them the boot. I've heard this said by others, and it still doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Exactly how (and why) would a President Trump "give the boot" to members of Congress?

They're not worried he's going to somehow remove them from office if elected. They're worried he'll get crushed, not get elected, and drag down the entire GOP ballot with him.

been posting that I made a call yesterday and today and everyday until the convention to congressmen that if they pull ANY antics or back third party, they’re out.

I wish we would all do it, but I was told “they wouldn’t dare”

why take the chance?

not much energy to send an email or leave a phone message

Am I going to write who in, Trump? No I said I will probably hold my nose and vote for Cruz, if Cruz is the nominee. If anyone other than Cruz or Trump is the Republican nominee I may not vote. Haven’t made up my mind up on that yet. But if I decide to vote it will be a definite anti Hillary vote and nothing more, in fact the same really holds true for Cruz. He is not the conservative I once thought he was.

Am I wrong here? Who is with me?

I'm with you 100%. We have to expose corruption and the process is totally corrupt. We the people have been f---ed.

The thing is, the delegates themselves get to vote. 100 years ago the Dems went through 102 ballots between the two frontrunners, and finally selected a third guy who won on the 103rd ballot.

The process depends on the delegates, which are 2500 people who have their own independent minds. They’re not pod people. Our electoral college is based on a similar system and not on popular vote.

How do you define steal?

It would be stealing to give the nomination to the guy who had the “most” delegates but not a majority, because the rules say that’s not how it works.

If you don’t go in with the majority of the delegates you have to earn them before you can win at the convention. Reagan and Ford fought for them in 1976.

"Thank you, brother! I knew I could count on you."

Did McCain, Romney, Dole bring the fabled “cross-over” voters?

The only Republicans who can win are sincere Christian social conservatives like Reagan and Bush. Moderates lose every time. People don’t choose Democrat lite when they can have the real thing.

Why do you just ignore that Cruz beats Hillary in almost every poll while Trump loses to her in almost every poll? And Trump has the lowest approval rating of any candidate in modern history.

Is that still true, given all the demographic changes?

Even back then, Reagan didn't alienate less religious voters and Bush wasn't a sure winner by any means.
