They need to understand that there will be apocalyptic consequences if they vote for someone like Paul Ryan or even John Kasich. At this point, there are only two candidates that they can vote for that don't lead to the demise of the Republican party and the conservative agenda. If they attempt to engineer a scenario whereby they can defy the clear will of millions of voters through a technicality, they're done. forever.

NO they didn’t, and they lost. Bush barely won, and Reagan won because of Carter. But that was a whole different era, and history does not always repeat itself.

I think they’ll lose the election on the basis of the candidate if they pick a bad one like those guys. There would be some backlash if Trump is way ahead in delegates and ends up losing, but situations are dynamic. Trump might be gracious about it and endorse Cruz if it ends up being him. Trump might say that he’s being given a cabinet post or a guarantee that some of his policies will be put into place. I don’t think the process itself will cause a backlash if it plays out like ‘76. Picking a loser candidate will obviously not excite the party and will lose the election.

As far as Trump helping the conservative agenda, we’ll agree to disagree on that. Trump has his own agenda and isn’t loyal to any group or movement. His fans seem to admire that about him, but there are better reasons to worry about it.

Barely winning is better than losing.

Polls are not always right. I depends on who runs the poll. Besides that fact, Cruz may even motivate Democrat voters to come out and vote, for Hillary or whomever the Democrat nominee is. They hate him even more than the GOPe supposedly does. I guess if Cruz becomes the nominee we will see if I am right or wrong won’t we.

I have told all the republicans running in local elections that I will not vote at all if I feel the nomination was unfairly taken from Trump. You should too. Give them some skin in the game.

I wouldn’t hold my breath on winning at all, because I don not believe he will.

All of them.. every one of them, could have initiated impeachment proceedings against obama. Not a one of them, or any other congress person... nor the media.. initiate any impeachment hearings... not even a reprimand against any of his lawless doings. He’s been guilty of more than any other in a position of that much power.. and the damage he’s done is unforgivable..

And today... with Trump... they now want to complain and take their toys and go home? they have no right to say a single word against the man we have chosen to be the President.. they had their chance.. squandered it.. if they could live with the likes of obama... they sure can live with Trump! When you mess up that badly... you are considered not worthy of making decisions... not on this one.

After all we’ve been through with obama, the worthless congress.. and the media.. they go and appoint ryan or kasich to the office of the President...and we would be back in the same mess as before... illegals.. no wall.. no turning back obamacare.. no change.. just go on with what obama left off.
NOT GOING TO END THAT WAY.. they have to know that and know it frontwards and backwards.. there is NO WAY they are going to do that!

I think they’ll lose a lot more than the election if “they pick” anyone other than Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. You think your conservative values are under represented by Donald Trump? just wait.

I heard them justifying a brokered convention by reminding us all that Abraham Lincoln was the product of a contested convention. They apparently need to be reminded of what happened to the country after that brokered selection.

I live in Northern Virginia. I hope by voting Trump the sewer around here will finally get cleaned.

Did McCain, Romney, Dole bring the fabled “cross-over” voters?

All 3 of these were GOPe candidates. Trump is not. All 3 of these were milquetoast. For all of his flaws, Trump is not.
