A 17 year old kid who unlawfully enter other people’s home to rob them poses a mortal threat to them.

I think the homeowner will be all right. The key fact is that there was a “confrontation” after she came upon him exiting the house. As an older woman of 54, with him being a much younger male, her options were limited. He might easily have attacked and killed her.

Property owners have the right to defend what they have purchased with their hard-earned money. There would be fewer dead thugs like this POS if their parental-type units (most don’t have anything really resembling parents) would pound this pertinent fact into their skulls. At least the homeowner saved the state the expense of a trial for the thug and the beginning of a lifetime in and out of prison.
