Hard to believe now but during the early 60s the University of Florida had Confederate flags on their football helmets.
My family is from Gainesville - very conservative....uncle was mayor for many years.......both Dad & uncle UF grads......
The UF libs have taken over - but the old-time families are still there and still conservative....they are not Gainesville natives, but imports.........
