Cruz: Responsibility in campaigns 'starts at the top'
The Hill ^ | 3/13/2016 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 03/13/2016 9:25:32 AM PDT by 20yearsofinternet

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said on Sunday that the protesters at rival Donald Trump's rallies are behaving "abusively and wrong," but added that it doesn't help when the GOP front-runner encourages violence.

"At the end of the day in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top," the Texas senator said on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday.

"And it is not beneficial when you have a presidential candidate like Donald Trump telling his supporters, 'Punch that guy in the face.' We ought to have a president who brings us together, who doesn't seek to divide us."

Cruz said on Sunday that the protesters at Trump's rallies don't have a right to "threaten violence."

He added that it's important a candidate show respect for the voters.

Cruz is a pathetic POS who sees his grandiose dreams fading quickly. He has been unmasked as just another lawyer turned donor owned politician. He’s no leader by any stretch of the imagination. Back to the Senate Teddy.

Darn good advice... you should tell this to all the European women who have been raped, beaten, and molested by the muslim ‘immigrants’ to follow your advice to nip those atrocities in the bud.

And surely the anarcho-communist- black racist mobs, cousins under the skin to the islamofascists will follow suit.

Wouldn't hurt to try, right?

/snark off

Cruz is spot on. Trump needs to be removed at the Convention if necessary.

Why else would double-down?

Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one.

cruise was, from the beginning, just an ambitious politician with no core values. He IS GOPe, Goldman Sux, CFR and a weasel to boot.

Even as a Cruz supporter myself, I think Cruz should be rallying to support Trump’s free speech rights instead of saying he should give in to leftist bullying.

I think he's telling Trump he needs to choose his battles better. Following Trump to Chicago looked more like following Custer to Little Bighorn than following TR up San Juan Hill.

You will be the hypocrite when you criticize Cruz when something happens at one of his rallies.

Otherwise I’m a TOTAL LOSS here. It’s been nearly 48 hours since Cruz first blamed Trump for Chicago, HE CANNOT BE THAT DEAF to know how angry his supporters are. Why else would double-down?

Exactly! How smart do you have to be to know you should stop talking?

Add that to his taunts of 'low info' to Trump supporters. Cruz would desperately NEED those same votes if he got the nomination, what could he possibly gain from being such an insulting jackass about another candidate's base?

Honestly, its become pretty obvious the GOP have NO intention of winning, or even looking like their trying to win.

Their apparently happy being the Dem's lapdogs and being feed treats now and then.

I see NO DIFFERENCE in the Three Statements!!

Here's another one:

"given the seriousness of the allegations, that alone should stop his confirmation.”

(democrat talking point from the time the democrats and leftist media tried to scuttle Clarence Thomas's confirmation to the Supreme Court)

The deeper we get into the mind of Criz the more dangerous as a President he would be. Talking points but nothing of real substance.

Trump for President.

Cruz is right? To H*ll with supporting the First Amendment right of ALL Americans? Do you support bargaining with terrorist too? He could have blamed Bernie as head of the protesters but it would not trash a competitor. Cruz is a lying, slimy lawyer but I repeat myself.

By blaming Trump, Cruz sides with the thugs.

This is not going well for Cruz.

Trump spent 10% of his time at the microphone attacking others, the tone he set has come home to roost. He is riding to power on a tidal wave of rage that he feeds at every chance. His followers are a reflection of efforts, the division of the country are the fruits of his labor.

Cruz is just pointing out the obvious, the tantrums will not change it.

This is known as “Doubling Down On The Stupid”.

The man isn’t nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

Agreed—I have lived for 93 years and seen and experienced more than most Americans living today-—that is why mankind does the same stupid things over and over since the folks only know what they are born into—even those who study history are not sure of what they should learn as history is written by the winners, not the losers even tho’ there is some truth on both sides of a given situation-—since I was in service during WW2 from 1/42-4/47 I sometimes read stuff by some ‘eminent’ historian that is absolutely wrong as to the action and result of certain wartime happenings—people tend to use info to suit their side of an argument, not necessarily the real truth—our schools have many communist sympathizers (if not outright members) who teach our kids their version of what our country should be-—then the colleges fill these mushheads with more garbage and being young we know they are knowledgeable in everything and so the riots and rallies——just use your brain to filter out the junk and allow some deep feelings help you make a common sense understanding and you will do fine-—things will get worse before they get better but hold fast and hold on tight to a country that has given more to this wicked world than it ever received in return-—the 400,000 dead service men we gave in WW2 are a good place to start understanding and loving America——best to all

Good grief. Hello, low information. Greetings, child. Cruz explicitly does *not* say its “all Trump’s fault.”
