Tensions in Kansas City already were on the rise Friday night in advance of Donald Trump’s scheduled Saturday evening stop here.
Just hours after Trump canceled his Friday rally in Chicago over security concerns, anti-Trump forces were organizing on social media and planning to stage what they hope is a massive protest inside and outside the downtown Midland Theater where the GOP presidential candidate is to speak.
A Facebook page labeled “Trump Out of KC!” sprang up to organize protestors. Others on Twitter using #ShutItDown indicated they were emboldened by their success in contributing to the cancellation of the Chicago event.

Whatever happened to the principal function of government at all levels? : the assurance of physical safety for normal peaceful citizens NO MATTER WHAT IS REQUIRED TO ASSURE THAT PHYSICAL SAFETY?
If government turns a blind eye to the growing problem, it is implicitly telling us that if we need protection, we're on our own!

Midland Theatre is a historical landmark and a beautiful place.
No wonder infiltrators sway the gullible media and a few of the “conservative” Religious Right, who seem to be awakening to the false narratives out there.

I have been to events at Midland Theatre. There is never enough parking.
Downtown KC doesn’t have a lot of parking, to begin with, and it is spread all over the place.

With the crowds at the game and at Power & Light there will be even less.
Do you realize how little ignorant and insignificant you have to be, to need to use that salute?
Any terrorist who crosses the security line around the speaker’s platform needs to be taken down hard and instantly. One cannot assume the terrorist simply wants to disrupt the rally; he could be a suicide bomber. Deadly force against violent terrorists should be authorized for all security forces working at the rally.
You don't know Kansas City and it's history. Like the Pendergast Era. There are ways to get in and out of Midland Theatre without being exposed.
Every Trump supporter close to the stage should be prepared to pounce if they see someone rushing the stage. You might get injured but it will slow them down. These attacks are getting to be more and more planned out. I hope the Secret Service can protect him. I PRAY God protects him.
And not one candidate condemning this. But I can’t say what I want to happen to them. If I did then I’d be telling them it’s okay to do what they want to do to Trump.
