Last night, in my hometown of Chicago, we witnessed what was predictable. The media, various journalists and various politicians going in were building a case that Trump incites people to riot. Meygn Kelly devoted a whole show to a female journalist being manhandled. Forget the fact that she walked right up to Trump out of the blue to engage him. No one should be allowed to do that.

You even had a Chicago Congressman Guitierrez openly calling for it ahead of time. And the local and national media gave him all the air time he needed.

In short, it was the latest attempt to bring the Trump campaign to screeching halt. Last night it failed.

But we must learn from this.

I am thankful that Trump was convinced to cancel the rally. I am quite sure that he was reluctant to do so.

I am sure there would have been hundreds and hundreds of people laying wounded and maybe killed. In short martyred by the media for some silly cause.

Chicago is not the kind of town you do this. The police there will beat you and arrest you, if your intent is to start a riot and hurt them or others. And they should do that.

I am sure Trump wishes to engage them, and talk to them.

Fact is, these people don't know what they're protesting about, and it would be impossible to talk to them.

I LOOKED OUT AT THE CROWD ENGAGING THE COPS. I SAW JERRY SPRINGER!!!!!! and a lot of college kids, who in two or three more hours will be congregating down at Kingston Mines, listening to Blues, and high fiving themselves, about what they did earlier.

What is really surreal, you could just have easily had Glenn Beck out there. He would have fit right in.

I think the lesson last night is this.

Our country allows peaceful protest.

Our country also allows free speech.

You can protest all you want, but to prevent me or anyone from speaking is illegal, and as citizen we should not allow this.

This is what separates our country from others. We respect each other's right to speak. The people who disrupt Trump, are your typical left wing liberal who wishes to prevent people from speaking.

WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW THAT. NO MATTER HOW AUDACIOUS AND TERRIBLE SOMEONE'S MESSAGE IS, HE OR SHE SHOULD NOT BE PREVENTED FROM SPEAKING.

From here on out an area "outside" for peaceful protest can be organized and set aside., but NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED INTO ANY RALLY TO INCITE VIOLENCE. PEACEFUL MEANINGFUL PROTEST IS NOT JUMPING UP, YELLING OBCENITIES AND GIVING EVEYONE THE FINGER.

WHERE I COME FROM THAT'S CALLED, "I DARE YOU TO HIT ME."

The media and the other candidates will seize on this, and declare it a reaction to the symptom of Trump's message of anger. You watch, that's exactly what will happen.

WHAT SHOULD TRUMP AND HIS PEOPLE DO?

1. First off, stop calling them protestors. They are not. Call them intruders, thugs, left wing anarchists etc. Right now you laugh about it, and think their cute. The ones to follow have a true mission, and that is to harm you. So take these early ones seriously.

2. If these true protesters ARE organized in an area outside of the rally, pick two or three to come in after the rally, to speak with Trump. SOMEONE SOBER, NOT ON DRUGS, BUT A RATIONAL PERSON. EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY BE QUITE IMMATURE. I think we'll find that these people share the same concerns about our country as we do.

We'll also discover, a good number of them, are immature and stupid and have no clue about knowing anything remotely related to what Trump stands for.

3. Make it clear from the start of each rally, before Trump comes out, that the rally will not tolerate demonstrations to incite violence. NOR WILL WE TOLERATE ANYONE HITTING ANYONE. MAKE THAT CLEAR.

4. The next time one of these people jumps up, says F you and everything else about you mother etc. holds up the middle finger, they should be arrested. MAKE THAT CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING.

5. Lastly, realize that the people who wish to harm you will look like your friends.

I don't trust the local cops doing security, or the media covering these events. A person like Glenn Beck, who is clearly unstable, should not be allowed 50 feet from Trump unless he is completely frisked.

The crowds AS HE WALKS OUT are allowed to get too close to him.

Okay, I've said my piece. NOw for a cup of coffee.

The organized group of people, many of them thugs, who shut down our First Amendment rights in Chicago, have totally energized America!

Those thugs are in no way morally superior to me. I cannot speak for any other conservatives since too many imbibe the nonsense that the Left is the morally superior side, too bad Ted Cruz is one of those who are failing.

The lefties in Chicago have awakened a sleeping giant.

People will be more motivated than ever to vote for Trump when they see what the alternative is.

It’s called the Law of Unintended Consequences.

I was at this freak show the last time it played town from 1968-1974.

It ends differently this time around.

Last night I posted a list of groups involved formatted from Freepers comments, tweets, etc
Question:
Is there any legal recourse to charge these anarchist with infringement of first amendment rights?

BTW Chicago police are now saying they did not advise Trump to cancel the event WTH. Were they wanting injuries and deaths. How irresponsible of them, if they did not advise him

Thanks, Nikos — again. Didn’t get much sleep last night. Two facts kept occurring to me.

1. The theme of all talking points by MSM, Cruz, Rubio, etc., is that Trump’s rhetoric incited the violence. It is false logic. If that were true, then Trump’s supporters would be the aggressors; THEY WERE THE VICTIMS.

2. Nobody will investigate unless Trump hires private investigators. DOJ, FBI, etc., answer to the White Hut. “We” are on our own — hung out to dry.

Excellent analysis. I didn’t have the perspective of being there in person but from what I saw on the news, I totally concur except for this.......................

“5. Lastly, realize that the people who wish to harm you will look like your friends.”

None of my friends look like what I saw in that brown shirted crowd of anarchists. They were like a bunch of wild animals that went wilder when they found out their plans had been foiled. None of my friends look like an ‘out of control mob’.

That was horrible last night. I’ve been to the Dayton area many times. Never been to Cleveland. I hope the LEO’s were watching last night and have adequate resources/time to prepare for the convention.

There were Glenn Beck supporters in the crowd.

The GOPe was in on this.

This is what must have been discussed when Bush met with the 3 stooges on debate day.

And lastly the left needs to remember this, carved in to a wall at the DOJ in DC, “Repression Breeds Violence”

As far as the riot last night goes, it is my belief that George Soros is behind it all. His main goal in life has always been to take the USA down, probably because we helped destroy his idol Hitler. The closer Soros gets to his own demise, the more he’ll finance and ratchet up the anarchy.

“First off, stop calling them protestors. They are not. Call them intruders, thugs, left wing anarchists etc.”

I agree with you. Please let me add two other label suggestions: agitators or brownshirts.

I do hope the Trump campaign will choose one label and start using it. If the agitator is brown with a Mexican flag, he should be called a racist La Raza agitator, black - BLM agitator, white - communist agitator. These are the groups of protestors I saw on the cameras last night.

The thing I wish for most with these thug-mobs is a way to figure out how they are paid. They have to be paid—bus fare, walking-around money. If we just know how the funds are transferred, who distributes, pictures of money being handed out with the t shirts? This is what I wish a reporter would do, pretend to be a “protestor’ and write about the money part of this.

“4. The next time one of these people jumps up, says F you and everything else about you mother etc. holds up the middle finger, they should be arrested. MAKE THAT CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING.”

This.

Someone e-mailed me last night that federal law prohibits protesting in a location where secret service is located, and that such behavior is subject to up to 10 years in prison (H.R. 347). I don’t know if this is true or not but, if it is, I think they should start arresting these vermin and prosecuting them. The liberal judges will probably just let them off, but that’s no reason not to do it.

This really rattles me. In America, a political rally and candidate’s right to speak should NEVER be shut down, on any side, by any one. This should offend BOTH sides. Strangely, Trump seemed less distressed about it than I am, and that human piece of garbage who goes under the name of Ted Cruz actually blamed it on Trump.

Blamed it on Trump! Sorry, Jim - this guy doesn’t deserve 50/50 support, or any support from anyone on our side AT ALL after pulling this crap. Everyone on this thread has seen these rallies. No one’s inciting violence. Except for the puke leftist protestors, the rallies are filled with positivity and love. For Cruz to paint Trump like some kind of Hitler, inciting poor innocent protestors to attack police and shut down an event is one of the most vile political moves I’ve ever seen - and this jerk is supposedly on OUR side.

Yeah, right.

This should never, ever, EVER be allowed to happen again. Maybe Hillary has the right idea - people in her rallies are reportedly screened before hand, so there ARE no protestors. If these leftist idiot brainwashed children are going to act like this, they don’t deserve to be heard.

Perfectly said. It’s like calling illegal aliens “undocumented immigrants”.

I despise political correctness.

Someone really needs to talk to the Trump campaign on their organizing. Yesterday they rent a stadium on a college campus loaded with left wing student loonies, so why should anyone be surprised that they turned out in droves? Today he’s holding a rally less than a mile way of the Big 12 Basketball Tournament championship game. I doubt that Trump will have to worry about protesters tonight because they will either be at the game, home watching it on TV, or unable to find a parking spot.
