Report: 46,000 Pa. Democrats Become Republicans Due To Trump

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Nearly 46,000 Pennsylvania Democrats have switched to Republicans since the beginning of the year.

According to Penn Live, some experts attribute the mass exodus to Donald Trump.

There’s even a title for the movement. It’s called “Ditch and Switch” and calls for lifelong Democrats to abandon the party, register Republican, and help ensure Trump’s place in the general election.

Professor of Public Affairs at Franklin and Marshall College, Dr. G. Terry Madonna, tells the paper he has a theory behind the switch.

“With the increase in support in exit polls for Trump among working class, blue-collar Democrats, it is my belief that these are people who fall into that genre,” said Madonna.

The numbers are similar in other states as well.

He brought about the contempt we now feel for him.

Someone discovered Trump’s family name and used it as a joke.

It’s now being used in the same way certain insults about Cruz are being used.

Payback is a beach.

Discouraging, yeah.

But remember the Fat Lady is still rehearsing her solo.

He talks in wild generalities about all the stuff he will do but there is no heart, no conviction

You're just wrong there. You don't build a giant business without conviction, drive and focus. He's also raised some pretty awesome children and you'd be hard pressed to find those that work with him speak poorly of him.

Heck, even Saturday Night Live said he showed up early, stayed late and worked hard.

I'm not expecting Trump to be a conservative messiah as those who support Cruz are looking for.

I expect a guy that knows how to get things done that will push the ball down the playing field and improve our country. I don't expect to agree with him on everything, but on the core issues, he'll be solid.

I used to think a revolution or civil war would solve the problems in the government. I now know that’s completely impossible and would yield results far more intolerable than what we have now. I thought we could bring the government back under the authority of the constitution. I now see that the vast majority of the people (0 Democrats and 35% of Republicans) don’t want to be under the authority of the constitution. They want a strong man (Anti-Christ).

I agree though. I don’t think Drumpf will be the nominee. Too many negatives and he can’t broaden his support without Rat voters because he’s all out of them.

It takes time and effort to change your registration, so these voters are taking a big step. I don’t think they’re doing it for a petty reason just to skew results.

I agree. I’m in PA. I know personally 3 dems who have changed their registration to support Trump.

Luckily there’s still plenty of time for more to come around. We don’t vote until April 26th.

But has Donald Trump really built a giant business or has he just played around with his vast inheritance without really growing it?

He has drive and personal ambition. He loves naming stuff after himself. He will compromise honesty to accomplish his goals.

He didn’t raise his children. His first wife did but, yes, they seem to be decent people.

My children are beyond great ... really, really wonderful.

That makes me happy but it doesn’t make me qualified to be president.

I watched Ted Cruz with Megyn last night.

He has so many great ideas and positive plans and he knows exactly how to do it. He discussed the powers a president has to accomplish things. Obama’s executive orders can be rescinded. He can abolish certain agencies.

He can take his programs to the public as Reagan did and force this dysfunctional congress to act for the people.

He promised to launch an investigation into Planned Parenthood. Trump promises to keep funding them.

His tax plan will enable us to keep business here. Not make stuff overseas as Trump’s own companies do, apparently without shame.

Trump has never hidden any association. I don’t like many like Cankles, but he has not been sneaky. Cruz has been a government employee with his cast of characters. Trump has been a private citizen. Big difference.

What you say about Ted could be all true.

I have two concerns with Cruz:

1.) He has a narrow base of appeal and lacks the ability to appeal to a larger audience. Listening to his ads here in Idaho, the rhetoric is lofty and vague in nature. He doesn't address the kitchen table issues that Trump is talking about.

2.)My main concern is that Cruz would knuckle under to the establishment when elected as so many of the 'tea partiers' have. He's already headed in that direction with cozying up to the Bush's. I just don't trust the guy.

Your tagline is pretty much Heidi Cruz's position with the North American Union goals she's in favor of.

I don’t think that is the case. I think there is a genuine attraction between Trump and the electorate.

If the GOPe really wanted a Republican win more than anything, they’d be working with Trump.

But enough have said they’d rather have Hitlery than Trump reveal the whole plan. They want another R viper elitist and if they can’t have one, they want Hitlery.

It is interesting that I was reading a story somewhere in a liberal publication yesterday. Apparently they are saying these people (NeoCons) originated in the Democratic party and they are afraid of what happens if Trump gets the nomination and these people come back! They are afraid of them invading the Clinton machine and are talking like they will be welcomed with open arms. Interesting, I thought.

This isn’t the story I read, but it does contain the same idea of the threat of them returning:

Why it is so important for you to call him Drumpf is anyone’s guess. It’s probably just the product of listening to a deranged member of the political media, most notably someone who resides at the New York Times.

So what are you going to do when your candidate loses the GOP Primary to Trump or Drumpf as you prefer to call him?

Do tell everyone. I’m sure we’re all ears!
