Good question. If they love Mexico and Mexicans so damn much, and they have vacations there and possibly homes as well, they never go there to escape from the horrors of the US political system...................

I was there at the end of last May. Did a driving vacation researching the wife’s Acadian ancestry over the whole area of the Maritimes. Drove 9,000 miles.
Did the full circle of Cape Breton and there was still snow melting off at sea level in places in the last ten days of May. Countryside is beautiful. Food is marvelous. People are real great as well.
Pack a lot of wool and you can forget the swim wear.
There are areas along the PEI coast where they had 16 feet of snow still built up in April.
I don’t believe them. They promised to leave back when “W” was elected but weaseled out.
Baffin Island would be a better destination for them.

In a quirk of fate, Americans who fled the Trump Presidency were met by the local imam who himself had (with his very extended family) fled Syria. The women were asked to cover and stay indoors unless they were escorted by a male relative.
When asked about this new culture they found themselves in, the women usually cited the horrible conditions in the US and that the small imposition of converting to Islam and requisite daily beatings was nothing compared to living with “those raving Nazis” in the states.
In other news, Prime Minister Trudeau’s conversion ceremony will be broadcast later this week as soon as all the details are finalized.
