Our local radio show host (here in Dallas) just said “I guess the people of TX are just fine with the status quo and simply want things to carry on as usual” He is disgusted with how the vote went yesterday.
Most of his callers are agreeing.
Good vanity, totally agree. I was so proud of Cruz as my Senator when this race started. He was the only one taking the high road. Wow, how he has changed.
So you are saying that saving an ideology is more important than saving the country?
I thought Trump already had the angelic evangelical votes?-)
Thank you for your point of view. Seen through the eyes of a Trump supporter. Did you really watch it?
Cruz/s Super Tuesday speech delivered the establishment message, 100%.
<><> Hillary Clinton is not the enemy, Donald Trump is.
<><> Cruz attacked Trump and preached that he must be stopped at all costs.
That's the establishments argument A-Z.
Cruz is not putting America first, he/s putting the establishment first.
With every bitter and spiteful sentence that came out of his mouth, Cruz showed he is the establishment. He is not what we need in the Oval Office.
==========================================
Donald swept the race...but to hear Cruz speak, HE is the winner.....we should be concerned this man is mentally deluded. His motives for running seem to differ sharply by what he feeds people on his campaign stops.
Maybe it/s the Canadian/latino lack of self-esteem. He seems driven to win despite the facts.
NOTE TO CRUX: The Oval Office is not the place to find your human potential.
“I had never seen such an election night speech, truly disgusting”
I had to walk out of the room. He was terrible.
Ted Cruz has not done well in liberal states. A true indication of his crossover appeal. He would be slaughtered in general election.
Ted Cruz is not a leader that can persuade. All he ever talks about are the fights he led. (and lost).
Can’t stand Rubio anymore, can’t stand Cruz anymore.
Breitbart radio is also picking up the Rubio line of “Trump is a con man”.
They all make me sick.
If the republican establishment and these candidates don’t get behind Trump (if he’s the nominee) in the general and stop the destroying of him now, I will not vote for republicans in the down races either. I will be finished with them.
Trump is not perfect, I wish he were better, but he would be much better for this country than Hillary. I don’t think he needs a bunch of Rino’s to accomplish what he needs to get this country moving and growing economically.
cRuz has exposed himself fully, as a Romney/Open Borders operative.
He’s fooled Texas, twice, now. Shame on TX for falling for this fake.
Nothing but a bought and paid for GS/amnesty PAC hooligan.
“It was a sad commentary that his victory speech mentioned Trump more than it did himself or his supporters.”
He is arrogant, and at the core, all arrogant people are petty and thin skinned.
OMG Cruz attacked Donald J. Trump, his political (Trump is a politician) opponent. Just how exactly is that self-serving anymore than when Trump attacks (verbally not with his itty bitty hands)anyone who dares insults him?
The mindless, hypocritical support of Trump and his nasty, nasty attacks against everyone from Carson to Kelley to Heb to Cruz to Rubio to Hugh Hewitt have made me re-evaluate the beauty of Rosie O’Donell and more importantly my vote for President. There is no one more self-serving than Mr. Trump; I would rather burn it down with a Democrat in office taking the blame than have it fall under the narcissist Trump with the Conservatives held responsible.
I understand how superficially Trump was an attractive candidate, but I found his faults before the marriage. I suggest Trump followers reconsider as I have. Rubio got one thing right; Trump is a con man.
Again, did you listen to the speech?
Targeting Trump isn’t an issue, obviously you need to make your case.... but when your case is, the other guy must be stopped at all cost, and the other guy is a Republican, you are no longer simply saying I am better because of this... he is weak because of that. Cruz literally, verbatim, delivered McConnell’s, Rove’s et al’s arguments against Trump.
Trump is not the enemy, Hillary is.
If Cruz wasn’t trying to portray himself as a candidate who will fight the establishment and will be a change agent there, then his speech last night would not be a big deal... However when one of the key pillars of your campaign is, and has been, I will fight the establishment... to then go out and literally parrot the establishments arguments, you just lost any credibility as a change agent.
Sorry, but BOTH sides in this forum have their faults...some more than others.
Lots of mud stained clothes around here of late.
I think you’re a bit harsh in comparing Cruz to a “mean-spirited, unhappy, two-bit Southern preacher in a cheap suit.”
He strikes me more as the kind of guy you’d find advertising used cars in a cheap suit on late-night TV.
I thought his ‘filibuster’ and his ‘government shut-downs’ were nothing more than self-serving attempts to bolster his own image rather than an actual attempt to do something useful. He was running for President when he did those things and they were nothing more than attempts to bolster his image regardless of the costs.
He’s been running for president for his entire adult life.
“... last night he lost all integrity in my mind. “
Yes, my thoughts exactly. To him winning isn’t everything it’s the only thing! The only good news is that Boobio is marginally worse and neither of them has a Chinalman’s chance of the nomination! Our bigger concern should be how the GOPe is going to behave as Trump gains the nomination. At least Donald is no stranger to litigation. When all else fails, sue the bastards!
If you believe Hillary is somehow preferable to Trump under any circumstances, then you are truly lost.
“That speech was completely on message from Cruzs OWNERS.”
He’ll be the down ticket sop for Credulous Conservative Camp followers behind some gray void like Willard. He just wasn’t supposed to reveal so soon, or so completely.
“but when your case is, the other guy must be stopped at all cost, and the other guy is a Republican,”
yeah, when you are running a primary and are in 2nd place, the front runner being stopped is the goal. If it were the other way around and Trump were in 2nd place saying that, I would still be failing to see what the issue is.
The best I can find is that he’s received $4M from his click donations site. I can’t find anything on large donors supporting him in fact I find the exact opposite!
No argument about that.
