You must be blind to to the Cruzaders here with their puritanical, inflexible blind faith of St Ted and the meme that anyone who dares to disagree with the anointed one is a liberal, retarded, or uneducated. Are you even smart enough to realize that you just insulted Trump supporters with your own post (ie: call them cultists).
I too lament this. I don’t support Rubio or Kasich but would like to think I could have a civil discussion with those folks.
The Democrats infected our political discourse with this when they embraced Saul Alinsky and all he stood for four decades ago.
“We must emphasis the positive ... not magnify the weakness, in order to grow and gradually upright our ship of State in America.”
Good post. I really don’t like all the hate filled comments I see EVERYWHERE. This country is turning into idiocracy on all sides.
I saw an interview of Ronald Reagan by Johnny Carson the other day. I know we can’t resurrect RR, but what a difference between him and what we have now. The man was pure class and decency.
I’m just basically tuning most of it as I have tried to do the past 8 years with Obama.
Obama was the turning point. Not just him, but all the people that think he is wonderful no matter how much he has destroyed and lied. The people that allowed him in lowered the bar. And it’s infected our side, too. I don’t have anyone I can really admire on the political scene right now. A couple of them try to do the right thing, but it’s not enough. There are no statesmen. There are no more leaders.
Interview of RR with JC if anyone is interested:

And people that don’t think our leaders acting decently in public matters are fooling themselves. It taints society. Trickle down ruination.
Prager is determined to go down with the ship.
Well, ‘bye.
Well said.
He’s not. He said in the article he would vote for Trump if it comes down to that.
The only ones “foaming and frothing at the mouth” are you juvenile posters who denigrate a good man without ever having listened to his show. Dennis is one of the few good guys left. He isn’t afraid to disagree with the GOPe or anyone else, but he is scrupulously honest and very polite. While the new barbarians pride themselves on volume and profanity, some of us still believe in content and vocabulary. Dennis is one of the leading voices of true conservatism. While I disagree with Prager’s support of Rubio, it’s hard to dispute the truth of his assessment of the Trump crowd. Unfortunately, the other side has behaved no better.
This election has turned my anger to disgust. Leaders attack the enemy. Four-letter words should be reserved as modifiers for Democrats or their policies. The GOPe had lost this race already, and there were at least two strong candidates who could have initiated a major movement that could have decimated the corrupt political structure that has usurped our nation and destroyed our heritage. Instead, the two sides now sit across the schoolyard spitting at one another and occasionally throwing feces.
You all make me want to run out and vote for your guy!
They are following their leader.
The Jerry Springer show attracts viewers.
Dems have finally reaped what they have sown. What happens next when it is not just nasty words if this is not solved now?
Very few are looking at what is coming next and that include Trump that has ridden this wave. What happens if the old Trump emerges and the base realizes they have been had? This whole thing is a powder-keg.
Agreed, but it's too late..
I could not be in more agreement with your summary statement.
Thanks for MTC's words. Apropos to say the least.
I look forward to dessert.
Yep. And that is why I’m very skeptical of trump and those that attack me for that skepticism; when I see trump attack Hillary with the same vigor he attacked Cruz, I might soften my skepticism. Until then, no. And I’m surprised no one else as questioned that..
We may be on the cusp of a movement that will lead to a great cataclysm in our Republic.
When the mob is behind the demagogue on a white horse, all reason or civility goes out the window in the name of patriotism. All that is needed is promises for change of an intolerable situation, and a populist may be the chosen One of the people.
It happened in Rome(Caesar), Greece (Pesistratus), Revolutionary France (Robespierre) and of course, Germany (Hitler).
And if you think about it, you could add Obama to the list for our country so Trump would not be the first.
Congrats Stratboy, you are the perfect example with your response. Your statement: “You must be blind to to the Cruzaders here with their puritanical, inflexible blind faith of St Ted and the meme that anyone who dares to disagree with the anointed one is a liberal, retarded, or uneducated.” could be said about your annoited one, Trump. And yes, about 95% of Trumpers are cultists who do just what you said above that Cruz people do and cannot carry on a conversation without invective insults or name calling. I chose the word “cultist” for a reason, but apparently you are not smart enough to see that or see how your answer proves my point. Don’t bother responding, you aren’t worth my time.
Using your twisted logic it's ok to say your not smart because I deem that 95% of Cruz followers aren't. That about sound right?
I stand corrected, then. Thank you.
When Dennis first started on LA radio he used to correct his listeners and tell them that he wasn’t a conservative.
Dennis was and is a non-Leftist, ‘60s Democrat. A Bobby Kennedy, Gene McCarthy kind of guy.
And he still is.
But along with a lot of neoconservatives he decided to support Ronald Reagan and began adopting the name of “conservative” while not sharing a lot of what most conservatives think. One of Dennis’ main interests being to promote mass immigration, the more the merrier.
Larry Auster used to call him a “confused liberal” IIRC.
” Love how he lectures about the whole man-women thing as he is on his what....third, or fourth marriage ?”
A zipper problem which has also kept him from running for office.
I’ve always liked Prager. He often has a different take on issues. It’s worth it to follow the link to read his article. Many of the responses to this post seem to make his point.
Anyway, here’s an excerpt:
“So this is where we stand today:
Many anti-Rubio Republicans regard Rubio as a traitor on the immigration issue and therefore have contempt for his supporters. Many anti-Cruz Republicans regard Cruz as an extremist conservative who is, moreover, a misanthrope, and therefore have contempt for his supporters. And many anti-Trump Republicans — perhaps most — regard Trump as a dangerous fraud, and therefore view his supporters with contempt.
Needless to say, with these attitudes, there is little chance any Republican can win.
So, then, despite eight years of failure under a Democratic president, and with Hillary Clinton — widely regarded as an untrustworthy woman who has put her pursuit of money and power above the interests of her country — as the Democratic candidate, Republicans will still lose.
And Republicans will have no one to blame but themselves.”
