Cruz was trying to secure the borders when Trump was firing
Dennis Rodman on the Apprentice.

*******************

I guess that brings the question: Exactly how much success has Cruz had?
Please list the accomplishments if any.

Thanks.

Cruz does not have the Reaganesque support of the people like Donald Trump, and he cannot possibly speak above, let alone overcome the forces arrayed against him the way Trump can - the way Reagan did! No matter how much Cruz wants do to the right thing, he simply will not be able to overcome the stumbling blocks placed in his way. Trump has the best chance of doing that.

First of all, I was just listening to Charles Stanley talk about Satan’s strategy of getting us to believe a lie because we have a great need. Instead of looking ahead at the consequences, Satan gets us to look at the immediacy and then he gives us all this other crud that he wants us to end up with. The consequences are ignored. Really good sermon.

Secondly, I thought this was so apropos:

‘Using MRI machines, researchers at the University College London found that “feelings of love lead to a suppression of activity in the areas of the brain controlling critical thought. It seems that once we get close to a person, the brain decides the need to assess their character and personality is reduced.”’

Trump has been in people’s homes for years. Now they are inviting him into their towns and lives because he is telling them he will build a wall. But there is so much more behind the mask.

Maybe not, but enthusiasm is a huge factor in politics.

I simply cannot fathom the enthusiasm for such an inferior, flawed, and derivative candidate. There is nothing that Trump can or would do that Ted Cruz would not do faster and better than Trump, if Trump really has any interest at all in doing the things he talks about.

What I find odd is the faith that some people have that Trump isn’t BSSing them off the face of the Earth, as is his natural skill set. He’s a kayfabe master; in the Hall of Fame, literally. There is no reason to believe a word out of his mouth, and plenty of cautionary evidence that he is totally lacking in sincerity.

Just a word of caution. You are about to be burned badly.

____________________________________________________________________________

There is much truth in what is said above. I am a Cruz supporter, unfortunately he will not be the nominee. I hardly see now how Trump can lose, certainly it is his to lose.

As far as Cruz being able to do more than Trump I would say that is doubtful. Cruz like Trump is hated by the GOPe and The Dumbocrats they will do all they can to stop both of them. The only chance either of them has if they win in November is to have coattails.

I know nothing about Trump. I have little trust for him but there are things about him that impress me. He is the one who started the ball rolling on illegal immigration in this campaign. Spending his own money is a big deal. The fact is that the GOPe is a business that rakes in millions of dollars and many Republicans are afraid their money will dry up if Trump or Cruz get in because they will not be willing to do the bidding of the Crony Capitalists in Congress. I look for assassination attempts on either of these guys if they get nominated.

I'm still not sure Hillary will be the nominee for the left but if so I think Trump would have no difficulty dispatching her, she has a lot of baggage. Cruz will have a hard time raising the money needed to prosecute a successful campaign.

I can still dream for a Cruz president but my vision of reality tells me the best I can hope for is Trump president and then Cruz nominated to the Supreme Court of The US.

We didn’t need a wall when immigration laws, welfare laws were similar to Maine’s are now, and there were no sanctuary cities or states. There have been jetloads of people flying in.

‘In April 2012, during a Republican primary debate for the Senate seat Cruz now holds, he was asked whether he would support building a fence along the southern border. “Yes,” Cruz said. “We have an illegal immigration crisis, and we have to do everything humanly possible to secure the border. That means fences, that means walls.”

“I think we need to use every tool humanly possible,” Cruz said in a follow-up interview with Texas ABC affiliate WFAA. “I don’t know the specific cost, but I guarantee you it is far less with the cost of illegal immigration in this country.”’

I’m sure you are in full support of the rough and tough Congressional staffs that have had the security of America as motivation for all they have done. This is the most corrupt executive branch and totally bogus congress ever and when one person stands up against them, he is hated.

So go with the deal maker instead of someone who consistently works to reveal the corruption while knowing full well that one vote gets nothing done.

The deal maker will get no help from the current GOPe either, so unless he has a great idea on how to build the wall, with his own money or taking donations from the public, I wonder if it’ll get done anyway.

He can always write an executive order. He’ll love that.

“Trump has been honest enough to say what we’re all thinking but we’re all scared to say,” said Sharon Neil, 68, of Fort Worth, who is voting for Trump.

BINGO! Illegal immigration would NOT be the issue it is without Trump getting behind it.

Illegal immigration “concern” is not solely the domain of conservatives alone.

Ted’s been excellent at speechifying about illegal immigration and upholding our laws, but when given the opportunity to do something about it in the Senate, he offered an amendment to the Gang of 8 bill that would have allowed the millions of invaders to remain in the country.

Oh sure, ‘they wouldn’t have been granted citizenship’, you say, but do you really believe that would have been upheld by the courts? Hell no, it wouldn’t, and master litigator, constitutional attorney Ted Cruz knew that when he offered it.

And need I remind you that he was also in favor of a 500% increase in H1-B visas too?

When it actually mattered Ted failed to ACT in our nation’s interest.

"But we’re all scared to say..."

This will turn into the big issue of 2016 and beyond -- the degree to which people can be harmed (in terms of employment, and even physical safety) for having a politically-incorrect opinion, and some Social Justice Warrior finding out about it.

“The point being that the enthusiasm has no foundation in logic.”

An assertion which isn’t supported by human experience or any evidence whatsoever.

Your line of reasoning declares that there should have been no enthusiasm for electing Ronald Reagan. You’re simply unenthusiastic about Trump because you’re out of step with what others see in him.

That's the real issue. It doesn't matter what a candidate truly believes, IF he needs to raise money among the Major Donor class.

If he is dependent upon donors, then he will have no choice but to accept the conditions that the donors put on him.

Oh, honey, his amendment to the gang of 8 was a poison pill and the dems wouldn’t pass it.

The corruption in use of H1-B visas came to light in November and like all of us, realized it had to stop.

Nothing like a presidential election to find all the hidden loopholes.

At least he’s pro-life from conception and isn’t for murdering an innocent baby because a parent is a criminal or mom is having a bad day.

“Oh, honey, his amendment to the gang of 8 was a poison pill and the dems wouldn’t pass it.”

Well, that’s Ted’s boilerplate explanation, but it doesn’t hold water. Not to anyone who’s watched these sneaks as close as Freepers have, over the years.

I bought that lame excuse too, until I really picked it apart.

I’m sure you posted it here. Could you find it and share? I’ve gotten to the point where I save things in a .doc file to remember things since they all say something new when facts come out.

No, it wasn’t me, but I’ve seen the quote of Trump denying it. Been posted here several times.

I’d track it down for you, but it’s election night. I’m busy watching the returns. Maybe after work tomorrow.

Wow - I’m not sure if the use of “outrage” in the headline is pejorative or not - but I think it may well be, since the source is Reuters.

The use of the word “outrage” could have been legitimate, if they were describing the emotion Trump himself is feeling, but the more I look at the words of this writer, the more I see it is meant to identify his stance on illegal immigration as outrageous.

The writer can go screw themselves to a lamppost.
