Well, thank you, beandog.

I thought the Sunday thread had become the Trump thread.

I’d already determined I would not comment today as I don’t want to fight with my Sunday friends but I will be fighting hard on other threads.

Check me out.

if Romney tries to run AFTER March 15, how can he be eligible ANYWHERE?

I believe he would be eligible at the convention, but not the individual primaries. And I thought the binding portion of the delegate selection was only for the first one or two ballots at the convention. So technically all he has to do is walk into an undetermined convention and be qualified to go after the first (2 ??) ballots.

Of course, if one candidate has a majority of the candidates (enough to win on the first ballot) that would be a moot point. Unless there are some other double-secret-probation rules that allow the rules to be changed without advance notice.

If Cruz were smart he'd call Trump and double cross the GOPe.

You don't get that HERE Altura, and you should know better.

Everyone has a right to post their opinion, but let's not attack others who do so. I've seen you on other threads high-fiving those who use terms like Trumpbots, Trump Sheeple, etc. So maybe it's a good idea that you don't post such things here, huh? But you are free to post in favor of Cruz, or you can even attack Cruz.

And I don't like the accusation that this thread has become a Trump Thread. It is not. Lot's of people post here, it's just that they don't get all emotional when their candidate isn't supported by the majority and go after those posters who disagree with them, nor laugh it up and chuckle at with those who do.

Trump is more popular with FReepers as a whole, and it shows here on this thread as most others.

Incidentally, I'll be voting the day after tomorrow, and I'll cast my vote for Trump. But if, through whatever miracle happens and Cruz is the nominee, I'll gladly vote for Ted in November.

Something that has been noticed and commented on before by family members who have watched several Trump/Wallace interviews - (surprisingly) Wallace seems to have some respect for Trump. Evidently not so much with Cruz.

The trade unions are just as bad if not infiltrated by the mob.

As an example: One of NYC top five banks with office on Park Avenue had three full floors redesigned by the firm with which I worked. A commercial office furniture mfr. had designed a very versatile, easy to move open office cubicle system with half high vertical panels pre-wired electric raceways and outlets from factory. A real plug and play installation, easy as pie and UL approved. Included was an empty comm raceway.

The system was the first of its kind to be installed in NYC.

Come the first installation day with three trailers waiting on side streets.

Bank reps, GC, designers, and subs gathered to watch the first installation by union building maintenance staff. First set of cubies went up, lights on! Success! But... up comes Elec union shop rep. screaming “stop work, you can't do this. It's a union electricians job. Bank guy says go to hell, it's the same as plugging in a light.”

Elec shop steward and maintenance men walk off job. Unloading of trailers refused until union jurisdiction resolved. Whole high rise building operation threatened with walkout.

Final resolution: Union electricians removed the pre-wired outlets, the electric harnesses completely while maintenance union stood by to install and unwrap next panel.

Net result the job took three times as long with two unions reaping beaucoup bucks they should never have received.

The furniture company devoted their advertising to non-union states and cities after that.

Corruption stifles growth and innovation every single time.

True, standard AIA contract forms have been developed and court tested over the years to become defacto industry standard. I’ve been out of the business since before the e-verify existed, so I’m fairly certain it has been incorporated into their documents.

Cruz has railed against the Washington Cartel, but if it comes down to a choice between the GOPe and Trump, he will choose the GOPe.

Everything is going very collegial on this thread.

After the past few weeks, it's almost TOO calm.

Maybe "calm before the storm" would apply, or maybe the TFH Grand Mufti ran through this month's budget and has reset the schedule so we'll get double or triple doses tomorrow during the Last Gasp before TX.

Okay, if I can't have any fun here with my neat new Whack-A-Troll game, I guess I'll go do some chores before our next snowstorm. BBL

I wish he'd do less, but I think some amount of petty material is both inevitable, and also gives the brain some "relief" from pondering the so-called debate on the weighty stuff. As you noticed yourself, "watching her yell at the tv is fun though."!

"I hate low-information voters that's why I'm voting Trump even though I don't know where he stands on anything."

I love how the “Principled Conservatives” have now adopted the Clintonite sleaze machine tactics of rumor and innuendo.

Odd how the same “News Media” will never cover any of Clinton’s real scandals but has no problem running smears against Trump

Cruz would be wise to keep in mind if you lay down with the dogs, you going to get up with fleas on you

Asking about his dirty tricks is a very valid question and then to pretend he was reading the Trump attack file was pretty weak.

with apologies to Meat Loaf) And I would do anything for Trump I’d toss away my vote, like that I would do anything for Trump He’ll always lead me on with his circus act But I’ll never forget how very angry I feel Right now, no way And I would do anything for Trump, but I won’t do facts No, I won’t do facts

2008 and 2012 you had the 1st Black Presidential Candidate nominated by either party. Bit different now.

It doesn’t matter. Cruz has shrunk that end of the conservative spectrum. Trump will more than make up for it in moderate democrat defections.

Remember, a democrat defections is -1 for Hillary and +1 for Trump. A pouty conservative sitting out the election because they suddenly discovered they only represent a small fraction of the party is just -1 for Trump.

The far right RINOs will disenfranchise themselves and drive the GOP center even further left.

When did Erickson become a Conservative? He is establishment at best.

BRAY - you will need to define YOUR version of Conservative, as all here can agree (maybe not) that THE DONALD is not a conservative

I know that Newt would be great as CoS and get Ryan in line and push through President Trump’s items, I just wasn’t sure if Newt was enjoying what he was doing now and not want to be CoS, though IMHO he would have a lot of power as same.

I believe Newt and Calista already live in DC, so they wouldn’t have to move. I saw a special where Calista sings in the DC Basilica choir and some of us saw her in the choir for Scalia’s beautiful funeral Mass.

Newt was on Maria B’s program on FNC early this morning and I think he likes Trump.
