I imagine there will be more historians than ever. They will need them to rewrite the past to show how much better off they are under the global-socialist paradise that Obama, Merkel, Hillary, and their allies are creating.

The phrase that leaps out at me is “pocket money.” Should I be driven from house and home, I would be pleased and grateful for food, shelter, and clothing, but I would not be comfortable accepting “pocket money” from an organization, because that means the organization helps fewer people than would be possible if the organization limits itself to food, clothing and shelter.
Although I might lobby for access to a library — in this day and age, adding a bunch of computers with internet access to sites like Kahn Academny and other educational sites to a local library as an annex for the use of refugees who are stuck somewhere and want to learn would make far more sense than handing out “pocket money.”
Plus people who are true refugees would appreciate having something productive to do. Taking more money than I really need? Not productive, and non-productive people are never as happy as productive people are. Humans were created/designed/evolved/whatever to need activities with long term and social pay offs; lazing around doing nothing may be great in the short run, but it destroys people over time.
One reason why liberal compassion isn’t compassionate. I’ve never understood why liberals who work hard and clearly have a strong need to “help” will then demand and defend “forced leisure” for “the helpless.” If someone is helpless and capable, you teach them some skills.
Well, maybe that’s it — liberals tend to be “soft racists,” who don’t see those they are helping as equals lacking resources (training, education, emotional support), but rather as inferiors who aren’t capable of taking on responsibility. Perhaps I’ve answered my own question...
