I'm new and basically a reader of the articles in FR.

I've just noticed!

It looks like you got a good Christmas present!

I hope the rest of us highly opinionated folks do not spoil the fun for you.

It made me wonder why the many articles referenced

There are certain website that do NOT want FR to 'copy' a lot of their stuff. (Got advertising dollars to rack up when folks go to THEIR domain!)

BTW; are you using a MAC computer?

That’s BS and you know it.

Trump and the Clinton’s were good friends so they both said. Not just “business” like you claim. They played golf and socialized together. Trump even invited them to his wedding. Hillary told people that she and Trump shared many common positions on things. That’s a fact.

You just don’t like being reminded of the stench. The hypocrisy runs deep.

You know the drill, “If you are losing the argument, silence the opposition”. It’s what they do.

I directly addressed the claims you made because they are not accurate. You provided no rebuttal. You just ignored the facts because they show your claims are false.

This is a public forum were we try not to let false claims go unanswered. If you want to have private conversations use private reply.

"He said late last year that the government needs to spy on Americans because of the times we live in. Never mind the 4th amendment."

You don't understand the 4th Amendment. Spying on the activity of a person is not conducting a search of their home. But your statement does open up an interesting subject. Even if they monitor cell phone activity, that is not an illegal wire tap. Wire taps pertain to the monitoring of hard wired telephone lines inside people's homes. If you are using a cell phone outside of your home, you can be monitored without a court order. The FBI puts Stingrays and similar devices known as dirtboxes in cars and small airplanes as a way to quickly dragnet data from a large number of devices while it is hunting for a device that belongs to a suspect. I think they get completely around the court order thing by saving your phone conversation in text. That way, no one actually listens to any conversation. Machines just convert voice into text and stores that text in huge data banks.

I think Trump will solve his problems using the best minds he can gather. In tonight’s debate, he said that he would get the experts together to help him select the best justice to replace Scalia. He would not be a dictator in the process. He would be a facilitator. Just like he gets the best architect to to design a building. You worry about him running roughshod over the Constitution. I understand your worry because of what we have seen with Zer0. How Trump will accomplish his goals is way out of my league. I think he will have people in his cabinet that will ensure he does things by the Constitution. It is much like he already does with his lawyer staff. He will go to work fixing the problems and be legal about it. He does have the experience to do it.

I agree. It is incredible what they can get away with in this modern age. For a look at it go here (check out the comments to the article too):

Spying on the activity of a person is not conducting a search of their home.

Though many times it can be.

If it's as good as the CC on my TV; ANY shyster lawyer could get THAT evidence tossed!

Before GPS, a small, 5 bit encoded compass, interrogated every wheel revolution, stored on a small tape recorder, could show the direction and distance a vehicle had traveled.

Isn’t this litigation situation with Trump the same thing that Sarah Palin had to fight? I wonder how many of these civil lawsuits are “slip-and-fall” efforts to bilk a rich man of his money?

How is closed caption generated? Is it like the Dragon voice to text system? Or, are there happy little beavers listening to the audio and typing the text?

Both; I think.

I can see errors being backspaced out and then being re-typed during live(?) stuff - newcasts and the like.

Pre taped shows have the text generated off line; giving more time to get it right.

My Iphone does pretty well converting what I say into text during messaging.

Imagine what the intelligence of the government has. I bet they have satellites up there specifically set up to pick up all the cell phone conversations, convert them to text and store it in a huge memory bank. When you want to check certain conversations, you have software to search for it, no search warrant needed.

IF you live through the 4 AM 'knock on the door'. No one just serves a warrant any more, they hit you with the full team, breach the door, toss the flash-bangs, and if you reach for your glasses on the nightstand, that could get you killed.
