'He's a fool': Trump fires back at 'tough guy' Romney
The Washington Examiner ^ | February 24, 2016 | Al Weaver

Donald Trump fired back at former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for wondering Wednesday if a "bombshell" was sitting in his unreleased tax returns.

Fresh off his victory in Nevada, Trump fired off a trio of tweets at Romney, calling him a "fool" and a "tough guy" for his attack, adding that he should have beaten President Obama as the Republican nominee in 2012.

>>>Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrumpWhen Mitt Romney asked me for my endorsement last time around, he was so awkward and goofy that we all should have known he could not win!<<<

>>>Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump "@Ward_II: Oh great @MittRomney is doing a @SenatorReid on @realDonaldTrump like losing the presidency wasn't enough #Trump2016" He's a fool<<<

>>>Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump Mitt Romney, who totally blew an election that should have been won and whose tax returns made him look like a fool, is now playing tough guy<<<

Earlier in the day, Romney told Fox News' Neil Cavuto that he worried over the fact that Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Ted Cruz had not released their back tax returns for "several years" as Romney had in 2012. He added that there is "good reason" to think there's a "bombshell" in Trump's taxes, given his wealth.

You might be right. Many of us on here believe she is being paid by the RNC - GOPE. She has been trashing Trump daily since the Scott Walker days. It’s overkill and never stops.

"Trump has little use for the constitution."

Why do you make such a false statement? Now I have to go through the web to find that quote that Trump gave recently about the Constitution?

After lots of trouble, which you should be doing before you make such statements, I will help you get it right:

A look into Trump's perspective on the Constitution can be found in his latest take on the replacement of Antonin Scalia. With the vacancy of the Supreme Court by Antonin Scalia, Trump has been asked who he would nominate to fill that seat:

First off, I want to dispel the typical red herring about Trump's sister, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, who sits on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Trump was just kidding when he said last year that his sister Maryanne Trump Barry would be a "phenomenal" appointee to the Supreme Court "My sister's a brilliant person, known as a brilliant person, but it's obviously a conflict. And I said, 'Oh, how about my sister?' Kiddingly. My sister, also she--she also happens to have a little bit different views than me, but I said it in a very joking matter, and it was all lots of fun and everything else. I would say total conflict of interest as far as my sister."

"Look, we need great intellect. We need, I think absolutely conservative," Trump said. "But the real--I think the real plan forward would be somebody just like Justice Scalia."

Trump says Obama wants to nominate a justice who will be "very negative" on the Second Amendment and gun policy. "We lost a great Supreme Court Justice," he continued. "Nobody thought this was going to be part of the equation. ... [but] all of a sudden, if the wrong person gets in they'll take the Second Amendment away so fast your head will spin."

The two people Trump likes for Scalia's replacement:

"We could have a Diane Sykes or a Bill Pryor, we have some fantastic people. But this is a blow to conservatism. It's a tremendous blow, frankly, to our country." Pryor was nominated by President G.W. Bush but the DemonRATs blocked his nomination: Pryor's appointment was blocked by Senate Democrats, who cited his description of Roe v. Wade as "the worst abomination in the history of constitutional law." Bush subsequently installed him in a recess appointment, bypassing the confirmation process.

Judge Diane Sykes, who currently sits on the Seventh Circuit,is,if anything, even more conservative than Pryor. .

“....That $100,000 gift from Trump to the Boehner-allied super PAC was twice as big as his next-biggest contributions. [Trump’s] given $50,000 .. to Karl Rove’s American Crossroads (2010) [and $50,000 to] the pro-Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) Kentuckians for Strong Leadership (2013)...

http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2015/08/when-it-comes-to-contributions-trump-doesnt-play-in-the-big-leagues/

And then Trump gave McConnell’s PAC another $10,000 in Nov 2014.

CW is not a troll. Only a moronic piece of crap would entertain that thought. How about you clean off the paid Trump trolls, posting 5 to 6 articles a day, off your back porch before pointing a hypocrital finger.

I am absolutely astounded by the number of Freepers who are admitting that 'they have lost all respect/faith/whatever' in Milt Romney. Why did you have any for this cheap used car salesman in the first place? Milt calls Red England (Red Hampshire, Assachusetts) home...that should have been a big red flag...he runs with some of the most dishonorable people to be found in America.

He's a white Obama.

The hypocrisy around here has been @ssploding.......

they couldn’t stand Mitt and refused to vote for him giving Obama a second term but now what he says against Trump is golden................

they loved, loved, loved Sarah Palin but now that she endorses Trump they hate her..............

they have been bashing Glenn Beck for years as the biggest loon EVER but now that he endorses Cruz, he’s A-OK.

Amazing, and they say Trump keeps changing his positions and is a flip flopper.

“we all should have known he could not win”

Mr. Trump, you have a selective mamory...you’re the one who threatened the rest of us that, if Romney wasn’t our nominee, you were going to jump in.

The last campaign season, Romney played a nasty game against the conservatives. Then he got the nomination. He backed off concerning Benghazi when he had Obama on the ropes after the first debate. He refused to campaign to 47% of the population, who he deemed not worth his time. (PS: Trump is winning support from those groups). He defeated the conservatives, then threw the election for Obama.

If Romney is going after Trump with a casting-doubts campaign, that tells me all I need to know. DON'T LET ROMNEY DEFEAT ANOTHER CANDIDATE WHO SUPPORTS OUR VALUES!!

And you know what? If Trump finds ways to not pay taxes, at this point, folks aren't going to care. He's funding his own campaign, a much better use of his money.

CW, I don't understand where you're coming from on this. Back in the day, the guy you supported, Forbes, and the guy I supported, Quayle would've been a great team. It was the mean machine plus money of insider politics that gave the nomination to GWB. Think how much better a place the world would be today if we could turn back the clock with what we know today, and get a Quayle/Forbes presidency. Why are you defending candidates who are as owned as GWB was? It has gotten the US into a very bad place.

Nobody has an issue with you posting your opinion, but you are out of control. No sane individual posts the volume of threads you do, with the same 5 responses that you cut and paste to yourself on each thread. You may feel that you are doing a public service, but you are irrational and come across as a complete loon. We get that u don’t like Trump. You need a few days off of here, whether by your choice or by the mods.

While completely ignoring his past. Nice.

You do know he prepared to run as a Republican this election right? That preparation involves preparing positions that are consistent with the party he’s running as. He’s a smart guy. He knows he can’t get nominated if he can’t make you and many like you happy in the base of the party.

When he ran as the Reform party candidate he prepared for that too - with a whole different set of positions...

Regarding his sister, nice of you to translate his words so us dimwits can understand what he really meant...

He said late last year that the government needs to spy on Americans because of the times we live in. Never mind the 4th amendment.

I know what Trump said about guns when he ran as the Reform party candidate.

I know that Trump tried to use eminent domain for personal gain.

I know that Trump said he was going to use executive orders to “do things” because Obama set the bar on how they can be used. Never mind that it is a blatant abuse of power.

You know that he not all that long ago was pushing for a “one time wealth tax” of 14 some odd percent? No tax is ever a one time tax and a freaking WEALTH TAX???

You know that he said his health care plan will cover everyone even the 25% that can’t pay for it and that the “government’s gonna pay”. Government doesn’t pay for anything. You know he said that it will cover preexisting conditions - but in order to cover preexisting conditions you have to be mandated to buy health insurance because no one would buy it until they needed it otherwise. He said he likes the health care mandate - but others here explained that’s not really what he meant - just like you did on supreme court nominations... Accept that you have to have it in order to cover preexisting conditions... And exactly where is it enumerated in the constitution that the federal government has the authority to manage your health care much less force you to buy it? It is clearly a state level issue and not federal.

So no, he’s not particularly friendly towards the constitution no matter how much you tell me otherwise.

He doesn’t have any great problem with big government, he just thinks its run by morons. That with his brilliance he’ll make big government work. Very much like how socialists constantly tell us how the last guy failed because they did it wrong. That the next guy is brilliant and will make it work. Just give him the power to do it and trust him... It never works. It is flawed at the inception. But lets fail again because we want to believe it will be different this time...

Oh yeah!

Feb 3, 2012:

“Celebrity business magnate Donald Trump endorsed Mitt Romney for president Thursday, telling reporters he will not mount an independent campaign if Romney is the Republican nominee.

Trump, who has repeatedly flirted with the possibility of his own White House bid, revealed his decision in Las Vegas two days before Nevada’s Saturday caucuses.

“It’s my honor, real honor, to endorse Mitt Romney,” Trump said, with Romney and his wife standing nearby. Calling Romney “tough” and “smart,” Trump said, “he’s not going to continue to allow bad things to happen to this country.”....
