Watch: Father Of Teen Murdered By Illegal Just Said 3 Words About Trump That Are Turning Heads

After Jamiel Shaw's son, Jamiel Shaw Jr., was killed back in 2008, there was a splash of media attention mourning the senseless murder of a young man on the right path. Then came a long, dark silence when it seemed that the world forgot.

But Donald Trump, who Shaw believes was "sent from God," didn't forget.

Last year, the Republican presidential candidate contacted Shaw to talk about the tragedy, in which Shaw's 17-year-old son was killed while walking home. Two Hispanic men had waylaid him, demanding to know what gang he was in. The young man, a star football player with a bright future, did not reply immediately. He was then shot by a gunman who was in the U.S. illegally.

"Since my son was dead, I pretty much gave up on being happy," Shaw said.

Then came a surprise. Trump asked to meet with Shaw in person.

"To see somebody, especially a billionaire, come out. I can't even get a neighborhood politician to come out, that's why it's so surreal to me," Shaw said.

They met. Shaw talked about his son. Trump made a pledge.

"He told me to my face, he said, 'I promise you I would never let your son's life be in vain.' To me it felt like the (future) president cared about me," Shaw said.

Shaw said he had never contacted the Trump campaign, but has since guessed that someone in the campaign saw an interview Shaw did on Fox News.

Shaw said Trump's immigration policy runs far deeper that just border security.

"People are looking at immigration as just an immigration issue, but people are dying. It's a fact. What good is the economy, healthcare, going to school, if people are dying?" Shaw asked. "Trump is doing things he doesn't have to do. He can buy a whole island and get away from crime."

He said his meeting with Trump, which eventually led to Trump's campaign using his son's murder in an ad, changed him.

"This was the first time I thought everything's really gonna be all right. To me, he was sent from God," said Shaw.

I am sure he doesn’t have any motive, and I am certain he wants it fixed too. It is a work around for a temp fix. There is something else wrong. They are probably trying to track it down. I code. Finding whatever is causing this could be really nasty. I am just saying short term this puts a spare on and we can get down the road.

There is a factor we're not privy to.

Okay, and I understand your premise.

It would seem to me to be an issue that could be filtered away.

I am willing to up up with the issue for now.

If it disturbs others that much, it does. I understand.

It doesn’t bug me much, just saying there is a simple fix. Heck I’ll write the regex expression if they want me to and send it to them. Would be less than 20 characters. (I think most of FR is written in PERL, at least that was some post I read many years ago and PERL has regex built in.)

At the end of the day it’s Jim’s call.

I’m not sure why that can’t be understood and accepted.

I don’t think I’m any less bothered by it than others are.

I accept it for the time being. If you can’t, then fine. You can’t.

I can. Someone else started bitching about it and I just offered up an easy fix. Ive learned to read those characters inline and recognize them and just let my brain translate real time.

I'm not a code person by any means. I do know that the problem occurs when the ‘ and “ are
slanted rather that vertical. Vertical characters post correctly and slanted ones don't. I know
the - is a problem also. This is new to FR but if you look on the web this problem has existed for
a few years now.

I know the smart quote conversion website, dan hersam.com, corrects the problem but
most people don't use it.

I am certain that site is using regex (Regular Expressions) to parse the text and do the real time fix. It would be easy to mirror their approach and just do it real time while posting. Regex is extremely efficient. It would not slow FR down hardly at all. Milliseconds per post. Regex kicks out assembler level efficiency looking at text. You can check it out yourself. Google Grep and install the software. Try searching your entire hard drive without indexes etc and compare it to Windows or Mac searches. It is BLAZINGLY fast. (Grep uses regex)

Not someone with a title (like reverend or pastor or bishop) but literally apostles in the same manner Peter, John, & Matthew were apostles. Yea, it’s different.

As opposed to the trump worshipers who think trump is the return of a deity. Yeah, it's so much worse to follow someone than it is to worship a man like he's God.

I have also often wondered about some sort of regex fix. And since the site is perl-based, I would think it would be a simple thing to implement. And if it didn’t work, it wouldn’t do any harm... Like you said, regex filtering is very low overhead in perl.
