Looks like Rubio is just throwing a bunch of stuff at the ceiling to see if anything sticks. Now, he’s seen cops abusing blacks. Only now he mentions such a thing? Can you spell p-a-n-d-e-r-i-n-g?

The ruin of many good people in public office stems from developing too strong a pander reflex. Marco Rubio, who is a good conservative in most respects, seems to have just such an over-developed pander reflex. It is probably too late for Rubio, but every conservative in office or running for office needs to undergo regular anti-pander training so that in the right case they are capable of politely telling people to go to Hell instead of pandering to them.

I too have felt the sting of racism coming from Rubio...

Meanwhile in South Carolina two white cops try to arrest a black man for possession of marijuana and he pulls a hand gun and tries to shoot one of them in the head.
Maybe Cruz would like to comment on that case....

Rubio's statement wasn't over the top. He was brought up in an immigrant community so he does have a legitimate view that we should listen to. Rubio might just be that voice of reason who can cut through it, where there needs to be reform vs what deserves praise.
It isn't like black millionaires who've sucked off racism-chic and bratty suburban white college kids running around disrupting stuff with their "black lives matter" nonsense.

He is probably sensitive because he gets pulled over by the cops a lot. Not because he is Cuban, but because they are checking to see if he is old enough to drive.

Rubio is putting distance between himself and Trump.
Trump +1
Part of Trump’s success his support of the police.
Rubio goes back to the pandering playbook without realizing it is opposite of what the people want - peaceful communities.
