FCC commissioner: U.S. tradition of free expression slipping away
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/16/16 12:58 PM | Rudy Takala

The American traditions of free expression and respectful discourse are slipping away, and college campuses and Twitter are prime examples, according to a member of the Federal Communications Commission says.

"I think that poses a special danger to a country that cherishes First Amendment speech, freedom of expression, even freedom of association," FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai told the Washington Examiner. "I think it's dangerous, frankly, that we don't see more often people espousing the First Amendment view that we should have a robust marketplace of ideas where everybody should be willing and able to participate.

"Largely what we're seeing, especially on college campuses, is that if my view is in the majority and I don't agree with your view, then I have the right to shout you down, disrupt your events, or otherwise suppress your ability to get your voice heard," Pai added. (end of snip)

I TOTALLY agree.

College campuses are little more than indoctrination centers designed to DESTROY free speech.

Along with all other freedoms.

Is that the same FCC currently engaged in pushing for Net Neutrality?

IMHO Liberals invented Twitter specifically to organize mob beat-downs of those expressing non-PC opinions.

When I went to college we were free to exchange ideas even if they weren’t popular with some, and that was one of the things great about America. No more.

We have plenty of freedom of speech...as long as we don’t say anything the liberals say we shouldn’t say. Isn’t that how the world is supposed to work? /s

The institutions of “higher learning” (and even elementary schools) have become a “programming” center (Common Core) to completely destroy Logic and Reason in children-—to actually commit Menticide (as Meerloo described it). (Limit Language and you limit concepts—Wittgenstein). That is why the dumbed down curricula for 100 years-—literally to irrational cr*p now, like “queer” studies.

Fichte knew in 1810, to destroy the minds of the masses—to make them completely irrational and believe “snow is black” for “happy slavery” (without armies)-—they had to warp and destroy Logic and History and God (Classical Christian Education) in little children-—and make the State/authority into “god”.

To condition children to accept slavery by the irrational sodomite elites-—to flip 2000 years of Good and Evil to the pagan ethics of muslims-—they have to destroy the Classical Christian Worldview which created the Age of Reason and Modern Science and the US Constitution.

Free Will and Indivdiuality is a Christian ONLY concept and for “group (non) think” they have to remove the Socratic Method and the Aristotelian Logic to create little tribal minds again. Remove the history of the ages so nothing is coherent and understanding is impossible.

That is why Christianity is being erased off the face of the Earth and from all the children-—or it is a warped “Christianity”—most churches were infiltrated by Marxists to destroy it from within..

People who have Minds like the Founders (or Scalia) have to be destroyed because they don’t accept slavery and the sodomy of the elite satanists.

Any Campus that has anti-free Speech codes or banned words should not receive any federal funds not even subsidiary tuitions.

The ‘Freedom of Speech’ as written into the 1st Amendment essentially says that anyone can say anything without reprisal from the fedthugs.

If the fedthugs are not prosecuting people for the things that they say then the 1st amendment is still intact.

If others of ‘differing viewpoints’ can shout down the ‘other viewpoints’ then it is the fault of the ‘other viewpoints’ who are not shouting loud enough and/or louder than the ‘differing viewpoints’.

It seems to me that both the right and the left are guilty of claiming 1st amendment rights are being violated when, in fact, they are not being violated by the fedthugs.

Please believe that I am, for the most part, further to the right than most FReepers. I am simply pointing out the misgivings of many on FR and the left.

I have a lot more freedom of speech since my Lady’s death.

Used to get the last word from under the bed.

We must agree with that point of view! Toe the line!

Yes they are!!

The WHOLE educational system is geared towards this.

John Dewey helped along with others and the system swallowed it hook line and sinker.

Ajit Pai is one of two, I think, GOP Commissioners on the FCC. Hes been forceful against Net Neutrality, but there are three Dem appointees.

What’s left unsaid in his comment is that the 1st Amendment acts as a safety valve against a LOT of ... unpleasant things. When people feel they can speak freely, its a check on them turning to more extreme measures to achieve their aims and desires. There’s a saying that “riots are the voices of the unheard”
