The battle over replacing Justice Antonin Scalia was already underway Saturday afternoon, an unseemly few hours after news of his death shook Washington, with Democrats insisting President Obama should be able to name a quick replacement.
With the court now divided between four Republican-appointed justices and four Democratic picks, Mr. Obama would have a chance to tilt the bench decidedly to the left, and liberal lawmakers said he should have that chance.

That may be the balance point for a middle-of-the-road Repub, but I'd maintain that the last Articulate Conservative to run that achieved not one, but two landslides, would be the case again.
The divisions in this country are such that the left is celebrating much like the Palestinians did on 9/11. The President may well inject racism into this tragic death by immediately nominating AG Loretta Lynch for the vacancy. She just recently won approval by the Senate by a wide margin for Attorney General.
The future of the republic hangs by a thread.
Even if the position remains vacant for a year, Roberts may vote with the liberal contingent to expand the powers of the executive and validate the power grabs of this president.

Thr republicans will bend over for Harry Reid. This country is in a downward spiral. As russia says the cold war ain’t over. They helped to put a muslim homosexual in the white house, now the democrats are positioning a criminal and a communist to be the new Resident. How long will it take before they say they have won the cold war.
They haven’t even done an autopsy on him yet to find out the cause of his death, and the RATS are crying for a vote. Granted the man was 79, and none of us know of any health issues he dealt with. With that in mind, I’m going to wait until the Coroner issues an official report on what he died from.
