Yes but how many people have the cognitive ability to do that type of work. Perhaps the top 20% will make out like bandits but the other 80% could be zero value workers.

You have that right. There is a serious problem that is affecting all advances economies. What do we do with the people in the bottom third of the IQ scale. These people cannot become programmers/IT techs/network analysts or even electricians or plumbers. There was a time when a strong back and a willingness to work was enough to provide a decent living. Those days are gone. As the cost of labor has increased these people have been priced out of the market.

I don’t have an answer but the problem is real and getting worse as technology replaces labor in ever more occupations.

The key is for the 80% or whatever it is to acquire the right skills that are in demand. I don't accept that they are too stupid to learn. Perhaps many of them might not want to learn those skills. But that is what they will have to do to survive. This has happened before throughout history.
