Last poll I saw Trump had pulled to within the MOE. IF cruz loses Texas he’s finished. I expect to see a Trump full court press.

They both want to win. That’s good. Competition never hurts. It only sharpens and strengthens, brings up in the bucket what’s down in the well. Unfortunately, whether it’s the IA Carson stuff, the “vote fraud” mailers, the porn star ad, the Rubio claims, Cruz has made a number of “unforced errors” that are really costing him.

It takes some effort to make winning in Iowa a liability, but Ted and his boys managed to make it happen.

Brilliant.

people like to vote for winners.. plus SC likes to vote for manly men,, Cruz doesn’t fit that bill, neither does Bush or Rubio...

how about Cruz going to NY City for a fundraiser held for him by married homosexuals and tells them don’t worry the sanctity of marriage bill isn’t high on my priority list.. then he comes down to SC and “forgets” to tell his evangelical audiences about that trip but slams Trump and Rubio for being soft on traditional marriage?

>>The salient point here is that Trump/s winning total in NH showed his poll numbers

Quack, Waddle...

"Trump won't be able to trump Cruz on conservatism. So now he's making clear that he isn't running a conservative campaign - he's running a nationalist and populist campaign. His enemies include both Republicans and conservatives"
http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/2016/02/11/cruz-knocks-trump-as-non-conservative-trump-admits-it/

Populist-Duck

What does "nationalist and populist" mean - and how should we differentiat that from odour of the 1933 vintage edition of nationalist / somethingism?

Got tyranny of the majority?  That's why this was supposed to be a Republic - not a populist democracy.

What is your definition of Conservatism?

Jeff Roe, Cruz’ campaign manager, appears unsuited to national efforts. In a statewide contest, Roe can time his most damaging lies and dirtiest tricks for right at the very end. His client wins, and the blowback comes too late to exact a price.

Doing the same thing in a national campaign wins one state. After that the buzz from the lies and dirty tricks becomes the story. Democrats may be alright with that stuff, but GOP primary voters are not.

Agreed. Cruz’s problem is his strategy. He planned on winning Iowa, losing NH and then execute a southern strategy.

Iowa was closer than they expected, so they had to pull out all the plugs to win. Trump and Carson called him out on it.

New Hampshire was a shocker. Ted did not even win the evangelicals there. He’s in trouble and going all in for the evangelical vote in SC.

The problem is he is now cast as a strictly religious candidate, and a nasty one at that.
