But he’s not Christ. He has never claimed to be Christ like. He’s only claimed to have a deep faith in Christ and belief that Christian values are important to being President of the US.
Donald Trump says he is a Christian, but because people don’t perceive that it is important to him, he doesn’t have to face the same judgement as Cruz. This is my perception.

Trump does go to church and does identify as Christian, but the depth of his belief doesn't appear to be at all profound, certainly not to the point of being able to reel off chapter and verse. What he is, is a pro-American, pro-western cultural Christian and he defends his culture, his, against attacks from those who oppose America, the west and Christianity. That's where he appears to me to be coming from, at least.
